Summary
Un vecino de Comillas encuentra un coche abandonado y con el reproductor de música encendido frente a un acantilado. El vehículo pertenece a la joven Emma Berger, y esta es la única pista sobre su paradero. El teniente Bruno Marciel, junto a su equipo, tratará de reconstruir las últimas horas de la joven antes de desaparecer. Olivia Llanos, una joven periodista afincada en Madrid, regresa a su pueblo natal, Comillas. Es la hermana melliza del sargento Max Llanos, miembro del equipo de Bruno, y conocía a Emma desde el instituto. Olivia, acuciada por un sentimiento de culpa debido a su mal comportamiento con Emma en el pasado, empieza a investigar por su cuenta. Descubre en la habitación de su antigua amiga un libro de arte dedicado por un tal E. Y todos afirman que Emma no tenía novio. Entonces, ¿quién es E.? La investigación por la desaparición de Emma pierde fuelle cuando un hombre muere envenenado por acónito, un crimen que centra la atención de los policías. Olivia, no obstante, seguirá con las pesquisas por su cuenta, mientras trata de lidiar con el reencuentro con Pablo, su antiguo profesor y amante, que ha llegado a la zona para impartir un curso en la Universidad Pontificia.
