About this listen

In O Me of Little Faith, author Jason Boyett brings you a transparent and personal account of his own of struggles with doubts and unbelief in living out his faith. With humor and frankness, Boyett uses personal anecdotes and a fresh look at Scripture to explore the realities of pursuing Christ through a field of doubt. After three decades of knowing God, understanding Christianity, and living a Christian life, Boyett has come to the place where he can voice the tough questions and travel the road of uncertainty with blinders off, candor on.

The message along the way is one of encouragement: Relax. Rely on the grace of a merciful God, a kind father who realizes that his finite creatures must have doubts, should have questions, and will have trouble making sense of an infinite Creator. Ultimately, Boyett concludes that doubt and faith are not polar opposites, but actually work together, existing side-by-side. Uplifting, entertaining, hopeful, O Me of Little Faith will strike a chord with you and any Christian who's dealing with the uncertainties of living life in pursuit of a God who occasionally seems to disappear.

Better than an Apologetics approach. For Me.

Any additional comments?

It is so hard to write a review of this book objectively because, if you are a person of little or no faith it may cause you to totally disregard Christianity, & it may seemingly prove to you that Christianity is totally false! Or it will convince and comfort you that, you're ok. Heading in the right direction! God. Is. Good!

However, the author is very frank about where he's coming from, and he is actually coming from a position of faith! He is not however, coming from a position of totally blind faith but he does accept that there is a need for a leap of faith on occasion.

This book has the potential to be either very heartening, revealing, thought provoking, and on point. Or it has the potential to totally take you off-balance and confuse you profoundly! I found it very heartening.

It addresses some of the niggles that we intellectual, highly educated, 20th and 21st century 24/7 news and political/ socialist/fundamental/left wing/right wing/ environmental types think about when it comes to religion/faith/Christianity.

I found it equally addressed these niggles (some I had not thought of and some didn't concern/bother me), in a practical, thought driven style, as well as our popular Apologetics authors do. Better in some instances. It's not all cut and dried!

It has taken me about three or four years to fully appreciate this book. I had listened to it initially about four years ago, but I was not really ready for it, because I have only just regained my Christianity, and I didn't really appreciate back then that my journey was very similar to the authors' journey. I regained my Christianity because I began my return journey with such books as The Shack, Mere Christianity, and of course, The Bible. I will always love and appreciate CS Lewis, he helped me back on my road to God, however Jason Boyett has helped me equally on my journey back to God and most importantly to Jesus. He offers no cut and dry solutions, but very sound paths for one to tread to develop your own relationship with Jesus.

I have listened to this recording four times now, and I am sorely tempted to purchase the text of it because there is so much to highlight, and copy, and refer back to! And that in my opinion is the reason to get this audiobook! I'm just about to commence my 5th foray, to bookmark and annotate salient sections!

Enjoy!
