About this listen
Phoebe Whitehouse is not just my student—she's my obsession. I eat, sleep, and breathe her.
One day, she slips up, and I have my in. At long last, I can own her. She's mine to punish and to pleasure. I don't care if I lose my job as a tenured professor over her. I don't care if I destroy my life or hers. I'm obsessed, and she doesn't know it yet, but I'm never letting her go.
As this is a dark taboo bully romance, please take into consideration the following trigger warnings: stalking, dub con, infant death by SIDS, death of a parental figure, alcohol abuse, and child neglect.
Obsessed was previously published as The Professor, but it has been heavily edited and extended.

Sexy Stalker Vibes
I absolutely loved The Professor and this much expanded version is icing on top of the cake.
Obsessed tells the story of Professor Nicholas Maclean who is obsessed with his student Phoebe Whitehouse. There are may dark elements in this book (child neglect, alcohol abuse, stalking and dub con), so its not for the faint hearted on those that these topics will upset.
Nicholas I the very definition of red flags, but despite the way the relationship starts between the main characters, we ultimately understand why he is the way he is. If you love a taboo, age gap romance then this book is for you. The level of steam is off the charts.
Joe Arden epitomises Nicholas. His voice alone is just making me warm in all the right places. Although Lessa Lamb is new to me, she also did an amazing job.

Holy Mary Mother of forbidden romance hotness!
Obsessed is the complete standalone, student/teacher, age gap, forbidden dark romance story of Professor Nicholas McClean and Phoebe Whitehouse.
Professor McClean has a deep obsession with his student Phoebe Whitehouse. For years he has been stalking her, slowly infiltrating her life without her knowledge therefore keeping her close to him so he can watch over her and keep her safe from a distance. Nicholas is carrying around a dark past and the weight and scars of a damaged soul who, he feels isn’t worthy of love. He is a dark, twisted, broken man yet when is comes to Phoebe he softens, she brings him into the light and shows him that he can have a future despite his past.
Nicholas’ past is tough to read and even harder to listen to, it broke me. I wanted to dislike this man but right from the beginning I knew there was more to him than he was letting on, more to him than the bully he was showing the world and my goodness, the levels of pain and depth of suffering this man has endured, it’s no wonder he behaves the way he does. It also shows me that he doesn’t want to bully or control Phoebe, his feelings for her run deep to his bones, he wants to keep her safe, to consume her, own her, love her. Will Phoebe want the same from her professor? Will Nicholas need to strong arm her into his way of thinking?
Phoebe Whitehouse on the outside has her life together when in fact she’s struggling to get by. She works two jobs whilst finishing her college degree and taking on the role of caregiver for her baby brother as her mother is an irresponsible alcoholic. The only help she gets is from her elderly neighbour Enid, who is more like a mother to her than her actual mother and looks after Scottie while she’s at work/college.
Professor Nicholas McClean is Phoebe’s professor and unbeknown to her has been stalking her for years. He is always short with her in class and constantly belittles her so when she makes a mistake through sheer desperation and he has leverage over her, he takes the opportunity to take their relationship from student/teacher to a forbidden sexual one. The more Nicholas gets to know about Phoebe’s home life the more he wants to protect her and Scottie. Will Phoebe love being dragged into the darkness sexually by Nicholas? And will she be able to help him face the demons of his past once and for all so he can fully enjoy a relationship in the light with her?
The phenomenally talented Joe Arden and Lessa Lamb pull off the most outstanding performances as Nicholas and Phoebe. Joe never fails to pour every ounce of emotion into each character brings to life and honestly, the way he gave us Nicholas was nothing short of brilliance. From the dark stalker vibes to the gut wrenchingly heart-breaking backstory that will leave you a sobbing mess to then being able to switch it up to bring out the sexy, growly, dominant sides of Nicholas just pure insane raw talent! Lessa Lamb is fast becoming one of my favourite female voice actors. Her portrayal of Phoebe was magnificent! Lessa flexed her skills from start to finish and again just like her male counterpart on this amazing book, she was able to take us listeners on a journey through the spectrum of emotions that will have you crying one minute and wanting to climb Nicholas like a tree the next! Joe and Lessa gave a masterclass in how to pull off performances to make us listeners feel like we are part of the story and feel every emotion not only the characters are feeling but also the author intended us to feel whilst immersing ourselves in the world of Nicholas and Phoebe.
Wow, wow, wow! I am obsessed with Obsessed! I have read a fair few of Serena’s books at this point and have to say this one got me good. It had me all up in my emotions (okay, I sobbed like a baby a few times throughout), I love nothing more than rooting for the dark, moody, brooding, damaged hero but Nicholas was special, his story hit different, and it helped that he was hot as holy hell and downright dirty and filthier than all the Feckers combined. I cannot recommend this book enough, if you only do one thing this weekend make sure you grab yourself a copy of Obsessed, it will blow your mind!

Throughout we get such a feeling for the anguish, sorrow and pain they both suffered. Their eventual joy is just so heartfelt.

A wicked hate to love relationship with an age gap a must read
Obsessed is narrated by Joe Arden and Lessa lamb listening to their voices adds another level to the story by bringing The characters to life you feel the emotions that the characters are going through and the pain and sorrow they have both suffered. but in the end when love wins you hear the happiness and joy in their voices and I just love listening to Joe Arden‘s voice as the professor.
obsessed is a wicked story where monsters go undetected and add to that a Taboo age gap and a obsessed Professor who is stalking one of his students unbeknownst to her and add some very hot steamy scenes and you have one amazing story
Nicholas Maclean is an English professor at an Ivy League college he has had a privilege life but he has his demons from his past and they have changed him from the man he was in to the monster he now sees himself as. The Professor sees phoebe on campus one day and becomes obsess with her he sits in dark corners of where she works and watches her and he tells himself he is doing this to keep her safe
Phoebe WhiteHouse is in her last year of college and only has three months left until she’s finished getting her diploma Phoebe has had a hard life and struggles to make ends meet as she is taking care of her baby brother because her mother is an irresponsible mother and is an alcoholic and can’t care for her baby brother. Phoebe was in and out of care when she was younger and she doesn’t want this for her baby Brother so she does everything she can to make sure she keeps him safe
When one day everything changes for Phoebe she’s desperate and does something so out of character for her.But sitting in his dark corner watching is the professor and he now has her where he wants her because he uses what he seem to threaten her to get her to do what he wants. He belittles her in his classes and phoebe feels like he hates her especially when she has to go to his office after her lesson because of what he’s witnessed her doing in the Caffe he now is holding it over her head with threatening to go to the Dean and getting thrown out of College when she only has three months left to go phoebe begs him not to and he steps it to the next level and turns his obsession with phoebe sexual.
I love the characters in obsessed how is the story involves you see the characters changing the professor realises how unfair he’s been to Phoebe and we see Phoebe starting to grow and become more confident and some monsters can be heroes.

This book was delicious.
Student/ teacher isn’t something that I’ve read much of but this book was at the top of my TBR since I adore Serena Akeroyds writing. Nicholas is the perfect amount dark, obsessive and possessive. This book has a few trigger warnings that you should definitely check before you dive in.
Phoebe has been let down by everyone. She is always getting knocked down but comes back fighting each time. Her love for Scottie is fierce. She is protective of him even when she’s unsure how to save herself.
I love that Nicholas admits his obsession with Phoebe and even when he pushes boundaries he doesn’t apologise for his actions.
This book is filled with dark deliciousness and the narration just makes it oh so much more.
