About this listen
Written by John Owen, one of the best known of the Puritans. In The Mortification of Sin, John Owen insisted on the importance of the Christian dealing effectively with their sinful tendencies and attitudes. He believed that God, through his Word and Spirit, had provided the guidelines and the power for this to be achieved. Owen effectively dismisses various excuses for not engaging in self scrutiny and yet avoids the current trend of self absorption. In so doing he provides principles to help believers live lives of holiness. As with all of Owen's writings, continues to be widely read and greatly appreciated to this day.

Wordy but worth it
The language is dated but the material is very edifying. I would recommend using this to follow along with the book. With the book I found myself stopping often wondering, what in the heck does that mean! But while listening you can get what's being said as the narrator delivers the content with great flow. This audio book + the book+ dictionary = real blessings.

Sorry I can't listen to it...
Sorry not getting on with the American English at all in this.. Lasted less than 10 minutes.. For example in classical English, duty can't be pronounced doody and convey the period it was written in, my personal issue I know..
