Summary

People tell you the monsters in the closet aren't real. They're wrong.

Get all three books in this urban fantasy romance.

A Step Into the Dark (Ollie Wit, Book One)

Ollie Wit is the strongest Shadow Walker born in decades, but it’s a gift with a steep price.

Walking in the Shadowlands can bring untold powers and spells, and even greater risks. Every step into that other world brings her closer to the monsters that have haunted her since a child, destroyed her family, and wreaked havoc all around her.

Kane knows Ollie is the key to getting the spell he needs and he’s the answer to ending her torment. But it’s a bargain that brings her closer to her own destruction. Even if she succeeds, will she be able to walk away from the newfound power that comes with walking in the Shadowlands?

Walking in the Dark (Ollie Wit, Book Two)

Some people find power in the light. Others are meant to walk in the dark.

Ollie Wit left it all behind: a new home, friends who saw her as something more than a fragile shadow walker, and a budding relationship with Kane. She did it all in an effort to shield Asher, who should’ve never been able to escape the Shadowlands.

Now her money is gone, her hopes of saving other shadow walkers has slipped through her fingers, and Kane won’t speak to her. She’s been abducted by leprechauns, who think she has committed an unspeakable crime. The vampires want her dead, and there’s a crawler blowing up End of the Rainbows. Kane might not want to work with her, but he’s going to have to because all hell is breaking loose in Boston.

Kissed by the Dark (Ollie Wit, Book Three)

Life with Kane is wonderful, right up until it’s not. People like me, Shadow Walkers, who know that monsters are real and nightmares don’t only happen when you’re sleeping, are always waiting for the worst. But no one believes me when I tell them disaster is looming, not even Kane, the man who has seen more than I can imagine.

When the worst does happen, I’m not prepared. Months of my life are wiped from my memory, strangers call me friend, and it looks like I’m conspiring with the enemy. I need a backup plan. Only problem is, if I have one I don’t remember it. I don’t remember anything, like who to trust and who to hate. Someone screwed with my life, and they’re going to pay. But do I trust Kane to help me when all I can remember is that I hate him?

Awesome series

Story about a shadow walker who can walk into another world. There she can obtain spells and information. There is a steep price for each time she does this. She has seen monsters since she was a child and never knew why. Then she finds out her ability to shadow walk. She meets a whole host of beings that she never knew existed. This is a journey of her introduction into this life and how she almost doesn't survive. Great read.

Ollie Wit

I liked book 1, but my interest progressively waned with book 2 and 3, although book 3 became a bit more interesting in the end. There was a lot of the same arguments between Ollie and Kane all the way through the series about mistrust and such and I wasn't about it. Love the narration by Angel Clark though, when she's being funny she always cracks me up.

Great listen after 'The Wilds'

Great bit of modern fantasy with a bit of romance and a bit of humour.

Good value, good story

I enjoy Donna Augustine's books, though sometimes the writing is more towards the young side of the young adult genre. Angel Clark's narration is decent, though sometimes tends towards being high pitched and whiny, which doesn't always seem to match the character outlines. Not sure if it's a range- or interpretation-issue.
They're well worth the time invested (I listen at around 1.5x speed) and am engaging story line. Satisfying ending, though as always, Donna's conclusions aren't quite as well-paced and seem a little shallow to do real justice to the overall story. Would recommend though!

Excellent

I loved the boxer and the storyline. I enjoyed how Ollie developed with the other characters in the book. It was nice to see a strong woman hold her own. I would recommend this book to any one. Still alive

Love all of donnas stories. Don’t hesitate to buy them. One question though I need an answer to, what did cane need the spell originally for? Who else did he need it for? Oh, one more what is he where is he from?? I kinda need another 3 books to explain these things please!!

Amazing

What a bloody great story. Usually when I get a box set like this. By the time I get to the last book. It usually feels lacking in some way. Or even the ending just doesn't feel right. But this was so not the case with this box set, at all. The story line felt fresh and omg some of the characters were so funny. I still give a giggle just thinking back. As for the ending all ill give away is it was perfection. Just like the whole box set. 5* xcx
