Summary

The corpse of a young woman is found on a golf course. Clues are few until Sussex Police discover she was a student...and a model on a pornographic website run by two of her tutors. Technically, the deviant owners of this website are doing nothing illegal.

DI Henderson is forced to face his prejudices, resulting in an explosive confrontation. University has just become a very dangerous place.

Disappointing narration

This Sussex-based thriller promises much for the reader but delivery is spoiled for me by the irritating, weak voice of the narrator. He simply does not have enough depth or authority for this.

poor narration

Sorry couldn't complete this title due to the narration. I found the narrators storytelling weak and I just wanted to switch off.

Appalling narration…..continual mispronunciation spoiled a great story

The story was well written and the plot well thought out
BUT….
The continual mispronunciation of SOCO made me seethe….the O is not a long sound as in ‘so’ but a short vowel sound as in ‘sock’
I wanted to be able to finish it…..but I couldn’t

Another run of the mill detective story

Unlike others I was overly irritated by the narrator, it is a relatively interesting, relatively light book.

Give this story a chance, not as bad as others state (imo)

I understand everyone has different expectations of the Narrator as they can make or break the story. I am very verbal when disappointed by a poor Narrator but I did not feel this one was as bad as others have stated. OK, he is not Jonathan Keeble but I felt he did an OK job. For me, the drag was the unnecessary long winded descriptions bogged down the story causing me to lose concentration. The lack of chemistry or camaraderie between Angus and the female DC was also dull.

Just can’t get past narration

I generally don’t read reviews before I embark on an audiobook, but after 3 or so hours of listening I found the narration so dull I had to give up.

Was surprised to then see that others had suffered the same disappointment

It’s not that it’s a bad story although there is no such Lewes University in Sussex, but having lived in the area for some years poor local pronunciation with a rather dull delivery killed the story.

Sorry to post a negative but this combo is not for me.

Not for me,

Got halfway through and then jumped to last 3 chapters as found it very long winded with lots of sexist comments which grated, not keen on narration
