Summary

Every epidemic begins with a relatively small group of people who've been exposed to an illness. The Centers for Disease Control believes that it is imperative to reach the site of an initial outbreak as quickly as possible in order to prevent further spread of the disease. Sometimes that isn't always possible, and events reach a catastrophic tipping point before the government can organize a response.

Origins of the Outbreak follows the chain of infection from one person to another after a university researcher in a small Texas town unwittingly develops a disease that turns its victims into zombies and threatens to destroy the world as we know it.

Told as a series of short stories from the perspective of each victim as they experience their own version of hell while struggling to survive, Origins will leave you gasping in fear.

Novel way of telling an apocalyptic story

"This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review."

Very good way of telling the story, switching between characters was the first time I have come across this and really enjoyed how this was written.

The only downside to this is you doing get to follow a character or empathise with them, but this is overcome by other parts of the story.

Pretty good

I received a code for this book and this is my voluntary review.

This book is not about the survivors of a Zombie Apocalypse. It focuses on the chain of infection, the victims and the fast spread of the virus.

I enjoyed the narration, the narrator’s use of different accents and voices worked really well. A good partnership between the storyline and the narration.

Disappointing

The author can write really good books, but I don't think that this is one of them. I don't generally like short stories and this book is like lots of scenarios where the people first encounter zombies strung together. There is no chance to develop any characters.
