About this listen

Runner and his team managed to bring peace to Tirtius, successfully log the crew out, and have begun settling in to make a home on the isle of Vix. Fate isn't going to let them go that easily though. She clearly hasn't decided on what to do with him. Plots are in motion. Threats local, divine, and abroad scheme to exterminate Runner and the threat he represents. The possibility of what he could become. To top it all off, the server is clearly ramping up towards a full awakening. What does one do with an entire world of "living" beings who are aware?

It all comes to a head when an assassin attempts to take his life in his own home.

Now comes the true test.

What is he willing to wager to build the future he wants, both in game and out?

Or rather, who?

Narration has steadily improved

If you read my reviews of the first two books in this series you’ll know I struggled a little with the narration at first.
This has steadily improved over the trilogy to the point where I can’t really fault it at all.

It’s a great series and the ending has the right mix of closure and potential for a sequel that you’d hope for.

Great conclusion to an epic story

I listened to the first book on a whim; and I'm so glad I did. a fantastic listen with a memorable cast of characters. the story developed so naturally and got me thinking. 10/10 great book.

Decent series slightly floundering last book

A decent series from an amazing author, I found the final book floundering a little and had a lack of a main goal that was clearly obvious. The ending was very bland and uninspiring but overall a good trilogy. This could probably do with another book to finish of the series properly.

a nice ending to the series

this is a good story and ending for this series of books. amazingly it's not the end for the series's characters as they pop up in other books by the same author.

Great Trilogy

I think each book was better than the last. Found it hard to find a place to take a break. Please write more of the same.

Three authors in one.

Picks great Narrators, Storyline is similar to one I came up with so I’m going to rave about how good Randi is.:) the only issue I have is the books suffer a little by chronological issues for new readers. I think wild wastes is the opus magna of his talent. Thrilled to read Runners back story.

Book 3 of The Selfless Hero Trilogy

Book 1: Otherlife Dreams
Book 2: Otherlife Nightmares
Book 3: Otherlife Awakenings
Really enjoyed this book. It was really easy to get into the story and the narration from Jeff Hays was top notch as always.

Good performance as ever, story as weak as before

The final book in the series finishes up the story.
Previous plot threads are practically written off as though they weren't there before.
The aspect of the world outside the game is barely touched upon anymore.
Very little happens for the first 2/3 of the book before the story suddenly wraps up.
The main issue with the series that I've had is that the hero is seemingly written to have no flaws. By this book he's the most powerful man in the world with beautiful women throwing themselves at him regardless of how he acts. It seems as though it was written by a teenager.
Performance is still good, with all the voice work coming across well.
Overall: wouldn't bother.
