What a thriller!

I love to wrap my head around a fantastic psychological thriller, and Andrea Smith with MJ Rigel deliver just what I love. This book is time sequenced, day by day for each character, and I didn't know who to suspect, then suspected everyone and it kept me guessing the entire book. Joelle is a teacher, dedicated to her job, her husband and her family. Things aren't good at home, her husband is cheating on her, and it's not even a secret. She seeks out help from a psychic, has gotten close to a male colleague and her best friend is her sister. So when Joelle disappears, who notices first? Her sister, reports it and Victoria, a detective takes hold of the case. Each suspect, from her husband to the psychic are all put to the test. Who has her? Did she just take off to get away and sort things out? Is she still alive? I was captivated the entire time! I couldn't wait for Victoria to solve this case and enjoyed every thrilling minute.

Alexander Cendese brings it all in his narration of this gem. He captures the personality of each character, chooses a voice that suits their temperament and made it easy to know who is speaking. This narration is spot on and was one of the best I have heard from him. Fantastic listen!

I enjoyed the narration of Alexander Cendese, who brings out the suspense , emotions and you feel the trill of this book

Joelle Lawton, is a wife, a mother, a sister and teacher, the perfect life. That is what it looks like she is struggling with a loss and her marriages suffering Her husband is having an affair. One day she just disappears. Detective Victoria Mason finds everyone is a suspect, in this friendly neighbour hood. Oh the husand....... This book has layers to the story. Being told from different points of view. You find yourself wanting to find the pieces to the puzzle, that the investigation needs to uncover. Very entertaining and gripping.

Addictive Suspense Thriller

Wow! What a fantastic story. Know that it did take me a few chapters to work out what was happening and who was who (sometimes I think it can be harder to follow with an audiobook as you can’t flip back and forth as easily). A few chapters in though, and I had the gist of the characters and the story, and I was completely hooked. The whole story is based around Joelle Lawton who goes missing whilst out walking her dog. The story follows the detective who is looking for her, and the people who were with her the days running up to her disappearance. The detective considers them all a suspect, and so did I. A truly entertaining psychological whodunnit that kept me hooked to the very last page. The story is written in multiple POVs with some interesting characters, all narrated by Alexander Candese who is fast becoming one of my favourite narrators. He has the ability to narrate male, female, old and young with feeling, bringing the characters emotions to life with his different tones and accents. I loved the story, the writing and the narration. A five star read for me. I received a complimentary copy of this audio book. This is my honest review.

Awesome Story & Listen🎧Gripping & Intense!

This awesome crime drama, psychological thriller, is thought provoking, keeps you on your toes and takes you to the edge of your seat. The writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. Some would think that Joelle Lawton, a wife, a mother, a sister and teacher, had the perfect life, but those who know her know she is struggling with a loss and her marriages suffering from the loss, too. Her husband is stepping out on her and she not only knows it, but knows with who, Samantha. And when she disappears without a trace, it is her sister, Mia Parker, who reports her missing, not her husband. Detective Victoria Mason knows what Mia is going through, she has been there with her own sister and she wants on the case because she does not want the same fate for Mia’s sister as her own. The investigation is a go, and I enjoyed how it was presented and detailed, broken down by timelines, from what occurred before her disappearance, the investigation on the Detective’s end, the suspects, then the search up to the search and then the fallout. The story is engaging, and it keeps you guessing first with what happened to her and then how is it going to turn out. I loved all the layers to the story, everything that gets uncovered, pieces to the puzzle, that need to be glued together with extra pieces left over, because the investigation uncovers more than they bargained for. Thank you for another amazing story and wild ride, so well played and so well done! Bravo!

🎧📚🎧 Alexander Cendese did a great job bringing the characters and understood the characters he was portraying, giving each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. He set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one, including the rage and madness of the perp and the fear the victim felt. Cendese is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen.

Wow

So do you enjoy a book that will make you need a holiday after listening to it because it has kept you so on edge. I loved the suspense and the drama of the book and the narration gave so much more. It was a little harder to distinguish the characters for the first chapter but i soon worked it out and just could not pause this book.

I found this book to be amazing and I couldn’t recommend it any more.

Unique format

I really enjoyed the way this book was formatted. Having the story being told from various different points of view really does give you an insight to the working of this author. I love the anticipation of what was going to happen next and from whose point of view it was going to be from. Very entertaining and gripping. Brilliant performance.
