Summary

You heard it here first: The unabridged edition of Paths of Glory is only available as a download.

This is the story of a man who loved two women, and one of them killed him.

Some people have dreams that are so outrageous that if they were to achieve them, their place in history would be guaranteed. Francis Drake, Robert Scott, Percy Fawcett, Charles Lindbergh, Amy Johnson, Edmund Hillary and Neil Armstrong are among such individuals.

But what if one man had such a dream, and when he'd achieved it, there was no proof that he had fulfilled his ambition?

Paths of Glory, is the story of such a man. But not until you've turned the last page of this extraordinary novel, will you be able to decide if George Mallory should be added to this list of legends, because if he were, another name would have to be removed.

Excellent

I found this combination of fact and fiction rather compelling. it's both beautifully written and narrated. I'm afraid a few chores got overlooked until I reached the end.

Great story based on true events

Not having known much about Mallory and the story of his attempted (possibly successful) climb of Everest I found this a well told and though provoking story, and I definitely what to find out more about him. I appreciate this book plays some licence with the facts, but is still a great read

Brilliant !!!

I felt berefit when I finished listening to this story.
I can not stop thinking about it and researching the factual story on which it is based. Jeffrey Archer knows how to write a brilliant story.

Jeffrey Archer And Roger Allam Deliver Again

This is another masterpiece and persuaded me that George Mallory was the first person to conquer the summit of Everest. This is not a spoiler.

the new jeffrey archer?

I've grown to know Mr Archer's work as fairly light weight page turners, OK for a long flight but not exactly Iris Murdoch.
Then came Paths of Glory. Exciting but touchingly written. If you have previously been put off by the author's public persona, brushes with the law or politics, give this one a try; you may have a pleasant surprise coming

A gripping listen

I try not to read the synopsis too thoroughly so as not to ruin the plot, and had I known more I might not have bought this book. What a mistake that would have been, as the story was gripping. It's not something I would usually be interested in, but the characters and narrator kept me listening intently. It moved as a pace, while still giving you a feel for the characters and their back story. I really enjoyed it.

Master class.l hung on to every word

George Mallory was a quintessential English man who first conquered Everest without the recognition.
