Awareness awakens you to the truth that you possess everything you need right now to be happy and fulfilled. Happiness is your natural state. You don't need to do anything to acquire it; you only need to drop something. This audiobook shows you what that is. There is not a single person who ever gave time to being aware who’s quality of life didn't change. You see life differently because you are different. You respond to people and situations differently. You see things you have never seen before. Beautiful things. You're much more energetic, much more alive.

The great human quest is to discover who we really are-a discovery that changes our lives and the lives of those around us. With The Deep Heart, spiritual teacher and psychotherapist Dr. John J. Prendergast invites us on a pilgrimage within. The "deep heart" is Prendergast's term for our heart center-a subtle center of emotional and energetic sensitivity, relational intimacy, profound inner knowing, and unconditional love. Story
To be human is to suffer - and yet, according to Eckhart Tolle, all of these painful moments contain an opportunity for awakening. In Transforming Suffering into Peace, this celebrated teacher offers a new perspective on the ego and what he terms "the pain-body" - all the accumulated emotional wounds that follow us through life. Though the pain-body can easily rise up and hijack our consciousness with unpleasant emotions, in this program Eckhart reveals a hopeful truth - by turning the light of awareness on our suffering, that suffering becomes a powerful gateway to Presence.

Then gently, and in very practical terms, he leads us into this new consciousness. We will come to experience who we truly are and learn to live and breathe freely.

Summary
The legendary British actor Terence Stamp reads the book that he says 'changed his life'. This is an exploration of our existence and a journey towards enlightenment.
In what the author calls 'the fine print' at the start of the book, David Carse wrote: 'There are many books out there that will help you to live a better life, become a better person, and evolve and grow to realise your potential as a spiritual being. This is not one of them...almost every popular spiritual teacher in America and Europe is teaching that ultimate spiritual enlightenment...can now be yours; and that reading their book or attending their seminar will help you toward that end. This book will tell you that these ideas are absurd, because it’s quite obvious that neither you nor anything else has ever existed....' He then concludes, 'That said, enjoy'. We think you probably will.

No words for this
Most sincere seekers i have come across over the years well gnash their teeth st this book and angrily dismiss it as 'neo-advaitist' nonsense, urging that you should read x,y and z spiritual master instead. For me,i see no need to add anything else to my already not inconsiderable pile. I will no doubt read more, but i am almost certain that although i may broaden my knowledge by doing so, i can never increase my understanding any further than this book has taken me. It flings the door wide open and beckons you to the threshold. There may be works out there which can bring you to the same place but i have not found them. For me, all words end here, at the beginning of silence.

A hidden gem of nonduality
Terence Stamp was so taken by this book when he read it, he narrated it for free and he does the perfect job. The book, however, took me completely by surprise. A genuine and authentic insight into spontaneous awakening. Little is known about the author David Carse and as stated in the book, he doesn't teach Advaita. He has no personal internet presence and works as a carpenter in Vermont. He has his own insight as well as referencing the modern greats, Ramana Maharshi, Nisargadatta Maharaj and also his friend and guide, Ramesh Balsekhar. The book itself is almost impossible to find but this audiobook is well worth a credit for Stamp's excellent and heartfelt translation

An inspiring, invaluable perspective
The extraordinary value of the book is not in its content but in the way in which Carse discusses ideas familiar in Advaita, in the analogies and metaphors he uses and in the no-nonsense tone of his delivery. This is something which Terence Stamp conveys very well. He undoubtedly gets Carse.
Early in the book, Carse discusses how many sages and teachers have told us that the absolute truth is ineffable and that that best they could ever do was point to it and hope that we would follow where the finger points and not get transfixed on the finger.
He suggest that looking at a number of 'pointing fingers' might help us to triangulate better on that to which they point. To a large degree this happened for me. Something about Carse's delivery has helped me focus my inquiry better and obtain profound insights I had not had before.
Obviously, this won't be the same for everyone and there are clearly some who are left cold by the book. No matter, you should try it anyway and if it doesn't work out for you try another writer.
In any case, as Carse points out, whether you listen to the book isn't up to you anyway

A pearl beyond price
Treasures come our way in life sometimes through the generosity of others sharing something precious they have found. I will forever be indebted to the friend who told me about PBS and introduced me to David Carse. This is truly a life changing story, if you allow it to be. Finally the search is over for me, no small thing! I love listening to this narrative by Terence Stamp and I can tell he feels the same way, you can 'feel the love' as they say. Words cannot explain what all this means really. If you are interested don't pass this by but be ready for what might come next.

The Only Book You Need
The writing is clear and straight to the point. You are that. You always have been and always will be. There's no need to find it or obtain it, because it is all there is. So why listen to an audiobook on it? Because most are misidentifying with what they are not, which is the cause of all the unnecessary suffering. This book points directly to what you are and helps to untangle the mess. Let these words wash through you until it is seen that there never was a you to begin with.

Perfect for the Western seeker, imo. The material is not new but the delivery is. Mr Carse has a way of explaining the unexplainable, more clearly than any I've read, if that makes sense. I've always cherished Nisargadatta, Maharshi, et al. So does Mr Carse, apparently.
