Summary

It takes a lot of effort for Jimmy Crocker to become Piccadilly Jim - nights on the town roistering, headlines in the gossip columns, a string of broken hearts and breaches of promise. Eventually he bacomes rather good at it and manages to go to pieces with his eyes open.

But no sooner has Jimmy cut wild swathe through fashionable London than his terrifying Aunt Nesta decides he must mend his ways. He then falls in love with the girl he has hurt most of all, and after that things get complicated.

In a dizzying plot, impersonations pile on impersonations so that (for reasons that will become clear, we promise) Jimmy ends up having to pretend he's himself. Piccadilly Jim is one of P.G. Wodehouse's most renowned early comic novels, and has been filmed three times.

Always

Wodehouse is always great. This is better. Don't miss it. Extordinary plot. Fantastic characters. Unparalleled humour.

Really good fun!

A new set of characters and a complicated plot involving impostors. With PGW's wit and Jonathan Ceceil's voices, what more could you want.?

Charming and cheerful

The reading is good, and the plot enjoyably and comically complex. A good listen

One of the best!

Loved this one, with its raft of new characters and the convoluted plot twists and turns and the horrible teenage Ogden!

PG Wodehouse at his best

Really enjoyed this, very funny! A fast moving farce and now one of my favourites by this author!

Gentle Amusement

It had the gentle, amusing feel of an old b & w movie. Loved it!

First rate entertainment from Wodehouse as usual

Piccadilly Jim is yet another Wodehouse masterpiece. Utterly brilliant narration from Jonathan Cecil who is unsurpassed in his ability to mimic all characters in a story and convince you that you are listening to a play containing the perfect actors for each role. The man is an absolute genius!

one of the best of PG Wodehouse.

The leads are good, the plot tortuous. Read it with great pleasure from start to finish.

JC was made for PG

Absolute joy. Jonathan Cecil is the best Wodehouse narrator ever. Great story showing PG's love of Americans.

Light but glorious

Wodehouse masters mirth and is a craftsman of the English language. I bought this for my teenage sons for whom English is a second language. Wodehouse had them hooked and I was delighted to help either the odd bit of new vocabulary
