About this listen
When Vicky accidentally slides into the side of a polar bear, she doesn't expect to fall in love. It turns out that the polar bear is a man. A sexy man. A man who growls, roars, and does everything he can to chase her away. Only to come back.
Gene has only one thing on his mind - revenge - until Vicky crashes into his life. After the pain and betrayal he suffered in the war, all he wants is vengeance against the brothers who left him behind. But he's confused when instead of wanting to punish him for his evil acts, they offer him forgiveness.
As if that weren't annoying enough, the cutest geek he ever met won't leave him alone. Or, more accurately, he can't seem to stop following her. And it isn't just because someone is out to hurt her. He wants her. But does he want her more than vengeance?

Love for the villain!
I love stories that give the villain a redemption arc and this was fantastic! We'd already seen that Gene had a lot of rage he's been dealing with, so it was great to really get in his head. By comparison, Vicky was not a great protagonist. It wasn't even that she was timid, I liked her character arc overall. But as a character, she just wasn't that interesting to get to know. She complimented Gene in that he was the strong one who could protect her... but then what? She likes polar bears. Cool... what else? I wanted more from her.
I enjoyed finding out more about who Gene was working for. The overall plot has been progressing really well throughout the series, so I'm excited to see where it leads now.
The narration was okay. The voice for Vicky was a bit too airy-fairy, I think that's part of the reason I wasn't too keen on her character. But when Vicky started to toughen up, her voice became easier to listen to. Gene's voice also wasn't great, but gruff-alpha voices are tough for women to achieve. I did like all the description narration, it kept me interested throughout.

Polar Bared!!!.....♥︎
A great series for people that enjoy Fantasy and a Happy Ever After.. This also has quite a lot of dry humour that makes this book fun as well as serious if you have a good imagination..... xx

Mixed feelings... Not great.
Have often wondered about reviewers who have struggled with a narrators voice but now I get it. The plot in this story was OK, though predictable but the voice of the heroine literally drove me up the wall! It was so pathetic and frustrating. I get trying to convey timidity but that was a joke. Its the first time I have whizzed through chapters and considered deleting the story altogether. The others in this series are better so don't judge on this one alone. Apologies for the low score but it really was grating to the nerves.
