About this listen
When power struggles between the Queen of Faerie, those who seek to usurp her throne, and a deposed Vampire Queen threaten to spill into the Human realm—and that of the Weres and Vampires—wolf Alpha Sylvan Mir calls for a War Council. A coalition is forged between Liege Jody Gates’s Vampires, the Snowcrest wolf Weres, the mountain cat Weres, and Sylvan’s Timberwolves to take the battle to the enemy in Faerie. But before war can be waged, another alliance is needed—the wolf Weres must agree to provide blood for their Vampire comrades once inside Faerie.
Anya, a young wolf warrior, finds herself paired with Rafe, one of the most powerful Vampires in the Americas, in an erotic union of blood and sex that ignites her primal instincts in a way she never imagined.

End of an era ?
Book nine in the 'Midnight Hunters ' series and unless L.L. has something up her sleeve it's the end of an era. This certainly has the feel that it's the end despite one or two loose ends depending how picky you are about tying up those loose ends (can't say too much or it will spoil things)!
The 'finale' was good with lots going on. The narration was iffy, with several of the character voices not quite right. I think the author must of been quite invested in this series to complete it fairly rapidly towards the end (thanks to books 7 and 8 being no longer than short stories). The story needed a decent 9 hours and 11 minutes to do justice to Sylvan, Drake et al !
I will forget The Midnight Hunters for a while then re-listen, there may be far too much rough animalistic sex but the bravery and honour of Sylvan and her allies has you routing for them !
