If It Ain't Broke Don't Fix It

Consistently gripping storyline. Borders on being formulaic but if you like a steady thriller with gripping action this is for you.

Fantastic storyline as usual

I love the fast moving pace of the story and the fact that I could not stop listening to it

My least favorite Private

Not a bad listen but not up there with the best Private novels, great narration but the plot is weak and never really gets going.

I really miss the Patterson books of the past i.e. Private & Alex Cross in their heyday.

Disappointment

Could not believe this was a Patterson - I love his books but this was stilted with archaic wording - using words like assailants and perpetrators and all the markings of an early 1950s mixture of Biggles plus a girly romance fiction. Not a bit like the usual Private books, let alone the Alex Cross series.

Standards are falling

While the performance is good this series is going rapidly downhill and is more fantastical each book. This series is at its best when it’s about a detective agency doing detective things. Jack gets arrested every book and some member of his team gets kidnapped or similar too. They really need to get back to basics.
