Summary
All Timberlyn wants is to get out of her small town, where she's branded a freak just because she happens to wear all black and draw gruesome monsters in her notebooks.
When a letter arrives saying she's been accepted to the mysterious Ravenwood Academy for the exceptionally Gifted, she jumps at the chance. Never mind that she's not sure what she's supposedly gifted at, or the fact that she doesn't remember actually applying there.
When she arrives, the school seems like a dream full of beautiful people ready to befriend her. There's only one problem with Ravenwood: it's run by Alarick Wolf and his brothers, three surly, thuggish, insanely gorgeous guys. Timberlyn's new friends give strict instructions to stay far away from them.
Unfortunately, she's not good at taking orders.
When girls at the school begin disappearing, Timberlyn refuses to maintain the status quo. She's sure Alarick and the Wolf boys are up to something, and if she has to, she'll take them down herself.
That is, if they don't take her down first.
This is a slow burn romance series appropriate for 14+ due to language. Though there are several guys in Timberlyn's life, this is not Reverse Harem.
Cliffhanger warning.

3 1/2 ⭐️
I received a free audio copy of this book directly from the author for an honest review.
To start with just have to put out there this ends with one hell of a cliffhanger. You’ll be screaming at the book if you don’t have the second one. I know as I don’t. 😂 There’s bits of this book like the suspense and mystery I really love in this book the Wolf boys and Timberlyns personalities although not as fleshed out as I like are constant and growing so hopefully in the next book that will continue. There do however seem to be things a little lost or maybe they’ll just come up in later books (I hope!) like Lindy from the first couple of characters which is a real bug bare of mine.
This narrator has to be one of my favourites she is s perfect fit for all YA or dystopian fantasy I swear.

Brilliant!
A fast paced first book in a new series, with plenty of action, mystery, suspense, twists and turns and a slow-burn romance, that hooked me throughout listening to the audiobook. The characters are well developed and the ending left me wanting the next book asap!
The narrator is simply fantastic! With her smooth, velvet and clear voice, as well as the various accents she uses, she brings the story to life! Can't wait for the next book!

be careful what you wish for
Year One: Wolf Moon was a great book. Timberlyn wants out of the town because she fill like she does not fit in. people don't like her because she wears all black and draws gruesome monsters throughout her notebooks. The three Wolf brothers make it know she is not welcome. Timberlyn does not listen to warnings and she ends up with more than she bargains for. Lena Mae Hill is a great strory teller and I can't wait for next book since I was hooked by cliffhanger

Lost for words
This is absolutely fantastic, the characters were enjoyable and well portrayed. The hints that the author dropped about the Wolf brothers were intriguing and left me wanting more. Definitely a fantastic author

Thrilling YA academy romance!
I absolutely loved this academy romance, its non-stop action, plenty of plot twists, and a slow burn romance that kept me enthralled from beginning to end. The heroine Tymberlan (I love that name!), is a social outcast with a gift who enrolls at Ravenwood Academy for a fresh start, not long after starting there, girls start disappearing, Tymberlan's drawn to the mystery and soon realise not everything is as it seems. This book grabs your attention and doesn't let go and promises to be a fantastic addictive series, Vanessa Mayen's narration helps bring this book to life.

The Cliff hanger, leaving you wanting more
The Cliff hanger, leaving you wanting more and screaming no at the end...
Timberlyn has grown learning new things about herself and that of others. Not only has she had found a connection of her dreams, but what she may be able to do with her dreams, leave many more questions to be answered. But her suspicions of what is happening around her has never changed, connecting the dots slowly through the story, wolves… premonitions, what is Timberlyn’s final fate with the Wolf boys and her friends in the place of Ravenwood? I certainly cannot wait to find out what is installed for Timberlyn.
The author has displayed a beauty of friendship and lured you into the forest mist, wanting to know more of Timberlyn’s fate. The narrator presented the novel well, and making the experience of listening to the audio book even more pleasurable.

enjoyed this book and I loved the relationship between Timberlyn and Alarick
Plenty going on to keep you wanting to read ore and more although I did find both book quite short.
I'm looking forward to reading book 2&3 to see where the story goes from here .
Timberlyn was 15 when she started Ravenwood Academy in the first book and book 2
