Summary

In Remarkable People, Dan Walker, the host of BBC1's Breakfast, recounts inspiring stories of the courage and selflessness of people he has met throughout his career. An uplifting tonic for the darkness and negativity of recent times.

We live in an age of anxiety, besieged by bad news and uncertainty. But Dan Walker, the host of BBC1's Breakfast and Football Focus, is determined to shine a light onto stories of selflessness and compassion that seldom make the headlines.

In the course of his professional life, Dan has encountered many inspiring stories of bravery and kindness. In Remarkable People, he recounts tales of incredible humanity, empathy and compassion, and a steely determination to transform lives, restore trust and renew hope.

Remarkable People is the perfect book for these challenging times - an escape from the negativity of our everyday news cycle and a tribute to courage and positivity.

Be prepared to shead a tear or two

Dan's voice is so comforting as he reads his book. I feel that he is so genuinely interested in people and this comes across in the stories of people he has written about. Brilliant 👏 👏 👏

Wonderful

I m not sure why I chose this book, but am so glad that I did. I hardly ever watch tv but sometimes catch bits and pieces of the Breakfast programme as my husband watched it daily. Definitely remarkable people.

AMAZING

Wow, just finished listening to the audiobook, what a wonderful inspiring uplifting emotional book this is. I loved it, it made me feel I need to make a change in my life and make a difference in the world, like so many people from the book have and under such difficult circumstances ! I laughed and cried the whole way through. Loved it.

Frequently upsetting and uplifting.

I got this on offer and honestly wouldn't have given it a second look if it wasn't on offer but having listened to it now I'd give others like it a second chance.

It was quite upsetting at points, it was joyful at others and always had me thinking about how these people had managed with the adversity they had faced.

I was joined for the second half by my 13 year old step son who listened intently and asked lots of questions about parts of society and real life he may otherwise be exposed to in less positive ways.

Performance sold it too. DW clearly meant every word and valued these people so highly.

Amazing collection of people presented well.

Give it a chance, I was glad I did.

Fantasy listen

Written and narrated by Dan Walker this is a compulsive listen about some remarkable people who are not the rich or famous. Tear jerking at times but uplifting and full of hope.

Remarkable People, Dan Walker.....

When I saw this book, I had no idea just how I would feel as the book progresses. Dan Walker hasn't been on my radar as don't really watch TV in the mornings, but this book has had me laughing and crying in equal amounts. A stunning book of personal lives, Dan, this is a stunning piece of work!!!
