Summary

Slavný britský humoristický román o neobvyklém dědictví, který milují čtenáři na celém světě. Hadrián Rookwhistle je nudný třicetiletý muž nespokojený se svým nudným životem. Jeho přání po dobrodružství mu záhy splní umírající strýc, kterého celá rodina označovala za podivína. Odkáže svému jedinému žijícímu příbuznému svou milovanou družku, slonici Růženku i s tučnou rentou na její zaopatření. Růženka je mírumilovné, společenské zvíře, ale má jeden zlozvyk – miluje alkohol a nedokáže si ho odepřít. Protože svou prostorností a živelností až moc komplikuje Hadriánův život, rozhodne se ji prodat do cirkusu. Vyrazí proto spolu na cestu, která je plná groteskních situací a absurdních příhod vrcholících až u soudu!
