Summary

Hidden deep beneath a remote desert is our planet's biggest secret. Sarah Morgan's only mistake? Finding it.

The world holds its breath as the colossal asteroid 2011 AG5 hurtles towards the Earth. As humanity is faced with extinction, archaeologist Sarah Morgan is in a race against time to uncover a secret that has been buried for millennia: that an advanced ancestor once populated the Earth. As Sarah travels across the continents in search of the truth, she discovers there are those that will kill to protect this most ancient of secrets....

Meanwhile, in a clandestine facility below the earth's surface, Professor Steiner has been charged with overseeing the preservation of the human race. Steiner believes he is on schedule to deliver his task, but as the world is poised on the brink of destruction Steiner's plans begin to unravel.

Excellent

Stumbled upon this author having read a lot of A G Riddel and looking for something similar. Thoroughly enjoyed it and I am looking forward to downloading the next book in the series.

Enjoyable and interesting story line

It was just the right amount of political intrigue, human behaviour and mystery. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Was that supposed to be a Welsh accent?!

I enjoyed the build up in story, but the ending was rushed and anti climactic. Not great not terrible.

An enjoyable listen

Pacey story with all the threads coming together in the end in what might be seen as an anticlimax

Pretty good

Not bad really. It could’ve been better in a few ways. There are a few scientific or logical type of questions I have that seem to have been overlooked by the author. without creating spoilers. I will just leave it at that. It got very slow in a few places and seemed to drag on. On the plus side, there were lots of really interesting ideas that hopefully will be explored further in upcoming books?

Unsure

The plot interested me and I think I'm about 75% convinced to get the next book in the series but I just feel unsure about the whole thing. It really felt like 3 separate stories for far to long. I'm not sure what was going on with the narrator, I think he may have been done a dis service by the production and editing team. I would say as a narrator he was good but his narration seemed to close together and rushed in places. There were no pauses between lines, especially where different characters speak. It made listening quite confusing at times. I tried several ways of listening including turing down the speed. I'm unsure about the rest of the series, I want to know where its going to go but fear it may dissapoint.

A very good story premise, superbly narrated.

Post apocalyptic audio books all tend to be written to a formula these days, EMP, Zombie or prepper same old same old. This one is different and is actually really well written, reminiscent of James Herberts writing style. The narration is superb. Rarely buy audio outside of my monthly credit, this time I've made an exception and I'm already into the second installment. Additionally, I'm not a fan of installment audiobooks designed to keep you on the hook, however these books are long enough to represent excellent value. Really good, highly recommend.
