About this listen

Jilly Cooper at her best!
Wonderful continuation of RCB' s story. A host of new characters to love and hate. Delicious and entertaining. A great holiday read.

Awesome Simply Awesome!
A complete ride of' a book and with every pun intended but with some TV production and the eighties thrown in all woven together so expertly by a cheeky word smith like no one else.
You lothe the bad guys and cheer on the good and you won't want to put it down. Emerse yourself.

Absolutely brilliant!
I first read this in the 90s as a teenager and fell in love with it and Jilly Cooper; I’ve read it multiple times since and after watching the new TV series on Disney (which is brilliant!), I have listened to it on Audible this week. Rivals is still wonderful; yes, it’s dated in so many ways, but it’s rare to find a book where you become so invested in the characters. For me, the highlight has always been how deeply Rupert falls for Taggie - the scene where he crushes a glass at the ball and realises the true depth of his feelings is heartbreaking and beautiful. And so many of the characters are adorable; Freddie is a diamond, Declan is swoon worthy, Cameron so misunderstood. I will adore this book for the rest of my life; it was the first ‘bonkbuster’ I ever read and few can compare - it’s Jilly Cooper at her outstanding best. Simply put, I ADORE THIS BOOK! The narration was brilliant too!

Awfully narrated
I have loved this book since I first read it, and the Rutshire Chronicles are simply the best. However, I found the narration and accents in the original version to be quite excruciating, which led me to return it. I've just purchased the newer version narrated by Georgia Tennant, and three chapters in, I'm enjoying it all over again! I do hope she can do the other books in this series
