Well worth the money
i was already a fan of the book as a child, it captures the most exciting parts of Star Wars dogfights, but the addition of the proper sound effects and music, and the excellent narration makes it greater than the sum of its parts

Unabridged version required for all
I love the Rogue Squadron series, love the unabridged first book. All the detail and story there to hear. Amazing please please please do the whole saga in unabridged format

Hope the movie is as Good!!!!
I love the Rogue Squadron stories, having read the comics and novels even listening to the Abridged versions as this was all that was available for so many years I can't get enough. To finally get Unabridged versions is just fantastic, I just hope they do all 9 (Not including mercy kill as already available unabridged). These versions capture the story in all its glory and with Marc Thompson (In my humble opinion the best reader of Star Wars Novels) doing the voices just adds to the enjoyment of the series. can't wait for the rest!!!!

Proving Legends Are The Best.....
Don't let the legends status fool you. These tales are as good as they ever were. Narrated and presented with sound affects and musical score at key moments. Highly recommended.

Just as I remember
Decades ago I read these books, some I devoured in less than a weekend even though I’m a fairly slow reader and they’ve sat on my book shelf, the spines getting a little worse with each rereading over the years as I go back to them from time to time. This version of the book does it right for me, the squadron is all present and nicely fleshed out as the beginnings of the war with Iceheart and the battle for the future of the republic begins(with the exception of the y-wing commander whose lines the reader seems to yell, irrelevant of context or location).
Just like when I read the books as a kid I got through this really fast and happily lost myself in the world of the expanded universe and I can’t wait for more.
If your going to listen to an x-wing book, make it this one, the abridged versions just leave you remembering all the bits they’ve left out, you get half a tale when you should be getting a squadron.

great It finally has an unabridged reading
I loved this book when it came out and had given up on a full reading ( I didn't even bother with the abridged 3hr!!! version)
and to have the brilliant Marc Thompson read is a bonus.
now let's hope they release the rest before the new movie comes out

Exactly what I wanted
I love the X-Wing books from Legends. The story is great, characters compelling, and the dogfights thrilling.
I really wanted to listen to it with Marc at the reigns, production quality of other SW audiobooks and the story intact (unabridged).
Easily one of my favorites.
