Summary
Read by Josie Lawrence, Room on the Broom is a very funny story of quick wits and friendship from the unparalleled picture book partnership of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, creators of The Gruffalo. This audiobok edition also includes a song and a read-along track.
How the cat purred and how the witch grinned,
As they sat on their broomstick and flew through the wind.
The witch and her cat fly happily over forests, rivers and mountains on their broomstick until a stormy wind blows away the witch's hat, bow and wand. Luckily, they are retrieved by a dog, a bird and a frog, who are all keen for a ride on the broom. It's a case of the more, the merrier, but the broomstick isn't used to such a heavy load and it's not long before...snap! It breaks in two! And with a greedy dragon looking for a snack, the witch's animal pals better think fast.
Perfect for listening to at home, in the car, at bedtime - or any time at all!

Great but very expensive for such a short book
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I think the fact that you don't get the illustrations on an audio book and that it's only 16 minutes long it could have been a lot cheeper or part of a collection. Still great to comfort my daughter in the car for a few minutes

Julie Donaldson has written several of my children favourite books, and this has gone straight up to the top few. Once again the pace, imagery and characters hold the rapt attention of not only my 8 year old daughter but also my 2 year old. I would recommend this book to anyone with children who love a magical story that transports you into a different world.

A wonderful story, beautifully narrated.
My 2 year old daughter loves Julia Donaldson books, and this is one of her favourites. It really fuels her imagination as she loves animals. I also think the story teaches them compassion and tolerance for other 'species.' And most importantly, looking out for each other.
It's beautifully narrated by Josie Lawrence with a song at the end which my daughter loves and signs along to.
