Summary
Rosa es una niña que nació y creció en el conventillo Mediomundo, el templo del candombe y la cultura afrouruguaya. Una oscura tarde de lluvia fue la primera vez que Rosa vio al Buncho. Una extraño personaje que se alimenta de la tristeza flota en el aire, como un remolino de tul, de humo, de tinta. Entonces llegó el verano y el carnaval estaba cada vez más cerca. Una noche, un desfile de tambores verdes y sombreros blancos se hizo escuchar, aparecieron los estandartes, llegó el escobero, la luna, el sol y las estrellas de cartón. Apareció el gramillero tiritando y la mama vieja bailando con su abanico. El corazón de Rosa empezó a palpitar distinto y descubrió que el Buncho y las penas desaparecían bailando.
