Summary

A fast-moving sci-fi fantasy novel for children inspired by the environmental chaos tightening its grip on our planet.

It’s about a young girl who discovers she’s part of an ongoing appraisal of the human race. This has been going on for generations of one family’s children. Although the story is of the science fiction genre, it focuses on the environmental issues of Earth and how other civilizations far across our galaxy have resolved their own ecological issues and how their societies now live in harmony and balance with nature.

It touches on both political and environmental issues and explores the possibilities of how a civilization could continue to develop while achieving environmental balance.

Rosie, an 11-year-old girl, takes a late summer walk in the woods with her grandmother's Labrador, Hattie. She meets an alien troll called Thumblerock. He can talk to animals, and he wants her to go with him to his own planet for an extremely specific reason. This sets the scene for an intergalactic journey across the stars, which for Rosie and her grandmother's Labrador can be upsetting, delightful, and full of love.

Can Rosie from Earth change the course of our planet’s destiny, or will the current environmental chaos end our dreams of joining the galactic community?
