Summary

Rom Com
Rules of Engagement by J.T. Geissinger is a romantic comedy that I listened to on audio narrated by Sebastian York and Andi Arndt.
This is the first book of J.T. Geissinger's that I have read, and it won't be my last. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Mason and Maddie. I really enjoyed getting Mason, Maddie, Dick, and Waldine's points of view throughout the book.
Sebastian and Andi did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like romantic comedies, sports romances, or contemporary romances.

Good, easy chill out book
Easy to listen rom com. Funny banter and snark galore, low level angst and drama. It was perfect for a very tired and overworked brain. A bit cheesy/mushy at the end but I can live with that.

Brilliant Story & Listen🎧 Delightfully Charming!
It is great to see another side of J. T. Geissinger’s creative mind in this beauty of a romantic comedy, one that puts a smile on your face and keeps it there the entire book. The book should come with a warning that once you start it, you won’t be able to put it down because it such a wonderfully entertaining story that nothing else around you matters at the moment except what is going to happen next can not put it down. The characters are amazing and I adored the two lead characters, Maddie McRae and Mason Spark, as well as Dick and Waldine, the secondary and support characters. Mason is a professional quarterback in the NFL, while he is great when he is on the field and in the game, his reputation is anything but great off the field and if he does not fix his image and reputation, he chances to lose a lot. His agent, Dick, tells him he needs to clean up his act and find a girl to settle down with, so they turn to the “Perfect Pairing” to find a wife. Maddie takes matchmaking seriously and is good at what she does, but her latest client proves to be a challenge. His demands are outrageous and when she finally meets him in person, she finds him to be just as outrageous. These two are like oil and vinegar, and the bickering between them is non-stop and hilarious. Little do they know it is foreplay for what is coming in this perfect opposites attract, don’t see what is in front of their faces, romance. I loved how everything plays out in this wonderfully plotted story, the meddling aunt and agent adds a lot to the story and so does the characters back story, including her ex who stirs things up for them. There is never a dull moment in this book, the dialogue is brilliant and there is a perfect balance of drama, humor, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn, but so worth the wait, romance. J.T. Geissinger, thank you for another amazing story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

Sebastian York and Andi Arndt are superbly talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They did a fabulous job portraying the characters, giving each their own distinct voice sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture all the character’s emotions and project them into their performance, making you feel every single one. They set the perfect tone for the story, handled the witty dialogue with ease and landed the humor effortlessly. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances an already brilliant story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Brilliant & So Funny!
I chose this audiobook, because I love Sebastian York & Andi Ardnt's narration so much, especially when they narrate in duet, so I knew I was guaranteed to enjoy it, as they could narrate a phone book, and make it worth listening to!
What I didn't know, having never listened to anything by this author before, was just how funny the book would be! I listen to hundreds of audiobooks while I WFH every day, a huge proportion of them are romance novels. Being the proud owner of a very dry sense of humour, any that contain sparky characters with dry wit, are always my favourites, and so this is definitely going on to my favourites list, and I will definitely be relistening in the future.
No spoilers, but the meeting between Mason & his Coach was a particular highlight and had me laughing so loudly my family came to investigate 🤣
Just a brilliant book! Excellent writing and narration, and I'll definitely by downloading more of her books 😊

Sweet, Funny, Emotional, and Heartwarming!
I loved it! Maddie and Mason's story is sweet, cute, funny, emotional, and heartwarming. I liked their banter. They are so perfect together. The characters are well developed, and interesting. Andi Arndt and Sebastian York did an excellent job with the narration. I enjoyed it!

Loved it!
Having just read a very dark MC romance I was looking for something lighter and this hit the button. It was perfect.
I love this author. She writes perfect grumpy/sunshine and the banter was wonderful! I also really enjoyed the side characters with the sprinkle of magic!
The #duetnarration was excellent with the great duo #sebastianyork and #andiarndt

Amazing
One of my favorite books from this author (and overall) is Melt for You, which is also a rom-com with a sports star (light on the sports but still, it's in the background). Well, she's managed to one up that book with Rules of Engagement. This book is amazing- funny, swoony and beautifully done. A comedy of (miscommunication) errors, I've alternated between laughing out loud to swooning at how Maddie and Mason interact. It's a slow burn romance with insanely funny characters (if this is a series, we NEED to see Aunt Waldine and Dick again. Even if it's not, we need to see them again).
Maddie is a matchmaker and she's meeting her match with Mason. It's fantastic to see him grow and open up, to see the softness in his heart being slowly revealed as he and Maddie get closer.

This was one of my favorite books of the year and now that it's available as an audiobook, I had to get it. And with Andi Arndt and Sebastian York narrating duet style. it's auditory perfection. Such a wonderful way to spend a few hours with laughs, swoons and perfect narration.

A lot of push and pull buildup, but worth the end explosion!
Genuinely had several laugh out loud moments when they meet, followed by a tortuous campaign of them both being so clueless about each other I wanted to throw things… when it happens and you think it’s all HEA there is another bloody twist! Really fab listen 😁

Beyond love it!
This book is my happy place! Every word, Andi and SebYo... absolute perfection. I'm a big fan of JT Geissinger and have (and love) nearly all of her books, but this is the one I keep coming back to all the time.
