About this listen
Rush, noun: a surging of emotion.
My life is falling apart.
Fired from my job.
Blacklisted across NYC.
At odds with my mother.
The only thing good I have to hold on to is the memory of my steamy one-night stand.
Only I had no idea who Eli was....
Or that I’d end up working on his movie set.
The spark between us threatens to reignite every time we’re near each other.
But Eli wants more than just hot sex.
He has a daughter and wants a partner in life.
I’m seeking answers about my past and trying to plan my future.
Commitment is the last thing I want.
Yet I’m unable to resist his pull and his passion.
His touch eases the turmoil in my life.
His kiss takes me to another place.
And the more time I spend with him and his daughter, the harder it becomes to break away.
Though when forced to choose between Eli or a chance at a fresh start, I’m not sure I can risk it all for love.
Rush is the fourth and final full-length novel in the Trojan series - a rock star romance series that takes place after the band breaks up. Novels in the series are interconnected stand-alones, each with a happily ever after. Listening to them in order is not crucial, but recommended for the best listener experience.

Great storyline
What a nice refreshing change from the normal rock star/film star books. This book has so much depth to it, it makes a nice change. With great characters well written and a fantastic emotional level it’s definitely up there for me.With a fantastic performance from both narrators it’s a winner.

Eli's story!
Want to fall in love? Listen to this single dad romance! SM West gives us Eli, the 4th member of the rockband Trojan, and we get to see where he has gone after the band broke up. He has a dream of being an indie director, so to find his way there, he is picking up some acting roles. This one needs a language coach to give direction on a few dialects. He has no idea the coach is the woman he can't get off his mind. Pru needs a job, and when offered to coach actors in a movie, she grabs on until she can get her life back in order. She didn't know her one night stand was one she would be helping! Now the fun begins! SM West writes the best romances, with original characters and fun stories. But it's not all easy listening. Her characters have depth, and the back stories and issues they deal with are real. I fell for the swoony Eli. This man has a good handle on who he is and what he wants. Pru is a character with layers, and I enjoyed it as Eli slowly peeled them all away. But I truly loved Eli's daughter Crystal! She is a hoot! Funny, sweet, and steamy, I loved this listen!
To make it even better, Lance Greenfield and Emma Wilder told me this story! Greenfield dives into his characters, and he plays the rockstar, single dad with his emotional, yet masculine personality. Wilder always finds the essence of her characters and with Pru she gives her the layers we need to get to know all of her. These two brought it all to life with an amazing performance.

Narrators weren’t a good fit
I’d have liked to be more surprised, as I had guessed every big revelation way before they appeared, but I still enjoyed it.
A single dad looking for a life partner on one hand, and a professional woman afraid of commitment on the other, yet they agree to a casual relationship because they’re attracted to each other–especially after their one night stand. I loved that they gradually made compromises. Eli is offering Pru space when she needs some, while Pru spends time with Eli’s daughter. They somewhat meet in the middle for some time, but of course, it can’t last. They don’t want the same thing. Or so they think.
I felt that, in the end, only Pru changed her view. In fact, this book is Pru’s story. Eli doesn’t have a real epiphany. He’s looking for a serious relationship, he finds out he wants it to be with Pru, he has to convince her that she wants it too. The end. Pru has a long journey to get there. She needs to order her priorities, figure out her relationship with her mother, deal with the absence of a father, and realize that what she fears is actually not that scary.
The fact that Eli is a celebrity isn’t that big of a deal. It’s Eli’s excuse to use a dating app and it explains his dating history, but it doesn’t cause any strain in his relationship with Pru. The celebrity burdens mostly fall on Tristan, Eli’s co-star. Clearly it isn’t at the center of the story.
There are however little bits here and there about women in the workplace and the casual sexism they endure. Between putting the blame on the female while absolving the male for the same mistake, and the way women are talked about compared to their male counterpart, the author definitely has things to say–or write–on the subject.
Though I love both narrators and they did a good job, I actually thought they weren’t good fit for the characters, nor for the overall energy of the story. Their narration was too slow, and sometimes the emotions weren’t there. They surprisingly did well with the side characters, in my opinion.

Rush is the fourth and final book in the Trojan series. I love the heat, the heartache and the angst as Eli and Pru journey toward their happily ever after. The fantastic characters, brilliant storylines, and wonderful narrators, make this a truly unmissable series!

wow
The narration by Emma Wilder and Lance Greenfield, so perfect for these characters. Loved.
Oh this story of Eli and Pru. What a journey these two go through . Pru isn’t looking for love, or even a relationship, while Eli is the one who's actually looking for his happy ending .
We have drama, brilliant characters and the right amount of steam.. perfect

Wonderful Story & Narration🎧Gripping & Heartfelt!
S.M. West pens another fabulous novel set in her “Trojan” series, Trojan, the rock band who broke up in the height of their career and each book in the series features a different member, it was an amicable split and all the members remain in each other’s lives in one capacity or another and make appearances in each other’s books so it would be beneficial to read or listen to the books in order, besides they are all amazing books. I am a huge fan of rock star romance novels and I love the world Ms. West created and the originality of the series and each book the rock star’s life after the band breaks up. This fourth book is Eli’s story, the former rock star is a single Dad and a successful actor, he stars in a series and is filming a movie, one day hoping to be working behind the camera and out of the spotlight. His fame has made it hard to date and find someone to settle down with, the women he meets are more interested in his fame than him as a person. Not having much luck dating, but he had a memorable and steamy one-night stand, but they never exchanged personal info and he did not think he’d ever see her again, but fate has other plans. Pru’s life has gone into a tailspin, betrayed by her business partner who she thought was a friend that cost her job in the business she co-founded with him and topping that off his influential wife has it out for her and is blacklisting in the business world, luckily she gets a job as a foreign language coach to actors filming a movie in NYC, her hometown. She also needed to move out of her apartment and moved into her mother’s penthouse apartment near Central Park, the apartment and location is great but her relationship with her mother is not so great. But she rolls with it and starts applying for new jobs since the coaching one for the film is temporary. She is fluent in six languages but this is her first time coaching, her first day on the job brings her several surprises, not only is it the actors she will work with but that one of them was her one-night stand from a few weeks ago. They agree to knot talk about the past and to keep it professional, but the chemistry between them is electric and they can only deny each other for so long. But the problem is Eli is looking for his forever girl and thinks Pru is it, but Pru is not looking for a long-term relationship or even a commitment. Pru has had so much disappointment in her life in the love department and those who were supposed to love her and be her friends, it left her broken and with issues, one being her own inner demons to deal with. But Eli has patience and will wait, but will she ever see how good a relationship could be or how good she could be in a relationship, deserving and worthy of love. I thought she was great with his daughter Crystal, just wished she could see it. I loved how everything played out in this beautifully plotted romance, the story captivated my attention and grabbed my heartstrings like no other and I was rooting for these two the entire time. I am sad to see this series end, but there could have been a better way to end it and it was great to catch up with characters from the earlier books too. S.M. West, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, S.M. West chose the perfect cast to bring her characters and their story to life. Emmer Wilder and Lance Greenfield are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They have a complete understanding of the characters they portray, give each a voice that fits that character’s person to a tee and are believable in every role they play, sounding just as I pictured the characters to sound. You could hear how much heart these two put into their performance as they captured all the characters’ emotions. Emma Wilder nailed it as Pru, Lance Greenfield, did the same for Eli, both were great playing the roles of the secondary characters as well. These two are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.
