About this listen
Finn hears the age-old Siren's Song as Mary leads him on.
They've agreed to work together, but Mary's dropped out of sight. Neither Finn nor their client has heard from her, but there's a trail of bodies in Mary's wake. Is she playing a game of her own?
Ever the good soldier, Finn sticks to his mission. But he's distracted by Mary's absence. Is she burning her bridges with the organization that hired them? She and Finn contracted to kill several people, but Finn suspects that Mary has her own hit list.
Will Mary lure Finn into treacherous waters? Or will he, like Ulysses, survive the Siren's temptations?
Listen to Sailors and Sirens and find out.

There's trouble with the woman.
Continuing the excellent Sailing Mystery Series, Finn and Mary are now working for the same firm, assassins of politicians and others who threaten the integrity of the constitution. They have been given a bit list - but Mary has disappeared. And the bodies start appearing.
Dougherty is a formidable story teller who writes beautifully, with quiet emotion and excellent visual effect. His two main protagonists are real people, albeit ones it is unlikely that the reader will ever knowingly meet. And narrator, David Bosco, becomes Finn - assassin, friend, lover - as he relates the story from his point of view. Bosco's performance, as usual, is impeccable, adding extra life to an already vibrant character and excitement to a thrilling complex story of political betrayal.
My thanks to the rights holder freely gifted me with a complimentary copy. I love this series and can highly recommend Sailors and Sirens. Best to have read this series from book one for full flavour and enjoyment of this series, although it would be possible to start with this volume - but then so much enjoyment would have been missed.
This is one reader very much looking forward to book five.
