About this listen

'The Crucible meets Desperate Housewives in this deft and gripping supernatural thriller' Daily Mail

'Addictive' Independent

Sanctuary. It's the perfect town. . . to hide a secret.

To Detective Maggie Knight, the death of Sanctuary's star quarterback seems to be a tragic accident. Only, everyone knows his ex-girlfriend is the daughter of a witch - and she was there when he died.

Then the rumours start

Bereaved mother Abigail will stop at nothing until she has justice for her dead son. Her best friend Sarah will do everything in her power to protect her accused daughter. And both women share a secret that could shatter their lives.

It falls to Maggie to prevent her investigation - and Sanctuary itself - from spiralling out of control.

A gripping thriller for fans of Big Little Lies, A Discovery of Witches and The Familars.

Good

Not sure what to think at the beginning but I persevered and it was good. Would thoroughly recommend.

it is an ok story

believably brings magic into the real world and really made me see how the witchcraft hysteria of our history led to so many people being persecuted. i was interested in the story and wanted to find out what happened. and there was a bit of an enjoyable twist at the end. but this recording was completely ruined for me by the voice of Sarah, every time it was her turn to narrate i was grinding my teeth! at first the sing song - don't give a damn cadence was quite interesting you would think that a witch secure her magic may talk like that. but her voice never changed - when she found out all the terrible things that were happening and all the really difficult situations she had to deal with it never changed, barely showed emotion and it was irritating beyond belief
