About this listen
A day at the spa ends in death. I’m the only one who knows the truth....
Charles Carver destroyed my life. He’s the savage drug lord whose experimental concoction killed my brother and colleague. I vow to hunt him down and expose him for the criminal he is.
After the brutal massacre at Selas Harbor two years ago, his crime empire vanished. I’m determined to find him.
As an investigative journalist, it’s my job to seek answers. As a sister, it’s my personal mission to seek justice.
I’m called on assignment to a wellness spa where there has been a suspicious death. The toxicology report matches the signature compounds of Carver’s experimental drug.
I’m getting closer to tracking him down. I can feel it in my bones. Nothing can stop me now from revealing the truth before it’s too late. Before there are more victims.
I’ll do anything to stop his evil masterminded plan—even if it means risking my own life.

Intriguing thriller
At first I found this story to be rather confusing, it was almost as if this was a sequel to a previous book, but the back story was gradually revealed as the book progressed.
Later the story was confusing in a different way, deliberately so, as doubt is cast on the central character's memory, is she really remembering what happened, or was she brainwashed?
This is a great story, told in a rather unusual manner, which I enjoyed, but didn't completely work for me.

interesting
an interesting book and very well narrated. there's a good amount of planning and action and while the book is shorter than I generally prefer, I still enjoyed it. Definitely going to recommend it.

Good story
My review is tinged with the fact that at the beginning I struggled and realised that it was a sequel (after reading some reviews wish I had read/listened to the first one first as it would have made more sense). However given that it still worked and once I worked out the backstory I really got into it. The story itself was good, a great medical crime story. It worked well. I wish it could have been longer as the ending was a bit rushed.
I am a fan of this author and the narrator worked well for me.
Overall good short story.
