Good stories, terrible recording quality

The selection of stories is good - these are all Gorky classics - but it's one of the worst quality recordings I've ever listened to. Apart from the first story, it sounds like this was recorded by putting a microphone next to an old vynil player. As a result, the sound quality is very poor, making it often very difficult to understand what's being read/said.
