Von etwa 1600 bis zum Tod Johann Sebastian Bachs im Jahre 1750 reichte die Epoche der Barockmusik. Denn Musik sollte nicht nur unterhalten, sondern die Macht ihres Gönners unterstreichen. Und auch der Klerus nutzte die Musik als Zeugnis von Macht und Reichtum und stellte große Chöre auf, perfektionierte die Kirchenmusik und engagierte hochkarätige Organisten. Bach, Händel und Vivaldi sind nur einige der herausragenden Komponisten, die der Autor in seiner Musikgeschichte des Barock vorstellt und deren Leben er erzählt. Und natürlich erklingt auch Musik auf diesem Hörbuch!
