About this listen
Having grown up with a port-wine birthmark on her face and neck, Quinn Dixon’s heard them all. Her own mother couldn’t bear to touch her, let alone strangers. Years of stares and insults from everyone from classmates to foster families have made her understandably reluctant to trust. So when John comes along, of course he couldn’t be interested in more than a brief affair. He’ll get sick of all the gawking and whispers soon enough and leave her…just like everyone else.
John “Driftwood” Trettle was captivated by Quinn the moment they met. After months of skirting around their attraction, one pivotal evening finds John seizing the reins and refusing to be denied a chance to prove he’s worthy of Quinn’s time, her trust, and her love. To show her he’ll have her back, always, and defend her against anyone cruel or stupid enough to hurt his woman.
But he can’t protect against an unknown threat. Even if it wears a familiar face....

A very enjoyable read
It was lovely to read a story where we learn about the heroines struggles with other people's prejudices and perceptions of facial disfigurements, and how she dealt with these issues in the past and how her life changed for the better when she met her new friends and Driftwood after overcoming some obstacles along the way.

fantastic book
this books always wow me I love listening to them because they're so relatable but yet so amazing at the same time. I really want a guy like the guy is described in his books. not perfect but you know pretty wonderful. I always think that the narrator does such a fantastic job in bringing the story to life and I couldn't imagine any other narrator with the stories I love it so much seriously

I loved listening to Stella Bloom
Having always felt and made to feel less for having a birthmark on her face, Quinn struggles and does not believe someone could love her, after all her mum gave her up because of it.
John see Quinn the real and beautiful woman and has to show and tell her this. But with someone out there wanting to hurt her because of her mark , John needs to step in fast to save her from some very evil minded people.
