About this listen
The novel unfolds in the 1600s, with Sirtimi, a performer, immersed in the world of theater and utilizing primitive makeup techniques involving chalk and water. After a late-night performance, his life takes an unexpected turn when he stumbles upon a severely wounded individual who attributes their injuries to a Lycan attack. Sirtimi, driven by compassion, attempts to aid the dying stranger, only to discover that the creature is not a victim of a Lycan but a Drakulis, a vampire-like being.
In a fateful encounter, Sirtimi is bitten by the Drakulis, forever changing the course of his existence as he inherits the legacy of these nocturnal creatures. As he grapples with his newfound abilities and the challenges of adapting to his altered reality, Sirtimi embarks on a journey of self-discovery. Determined to understand the nature of his transformation, he seeks out others like himself, intent on forming a community of beings who share in the Drakulis legacy.
Throughout his quest, Sirtimi stumbles upon a revelation that he fathered twin boys before succumbing to the life of a Drakulis. This unexpected revelation adds layers to his already complex existence, prompting him to navigate the complexities of parenthood in the context of his supernatural identity.
As time progresses, Sirtimi's ultimate goal crystallizes: to establish a council of his kind, uniting Drakulis beings to form a cohesive community. However, his personal vendetta fuels his determination as he sets out to confront the one responsible for turning him into a Drakulis—the individual who ended his human life and initiated his existence as a creature of the night.
The narrative weaves together elements of historical fiction, fantasy, and familial drama as it explores Sirtimi's evolution from a humble performer to a powerful Drakulis seeking justice and purpose. The journey is fraught with challenges, both internal and external, as Sirtimi grapples with his dual identity and the responsibilities that come

Every player has a story
I love finding out more details of characters backstory, things that happened to them that influence their later decisions.
That's exactly what you get with Sirtimi. We find out how he became a vampire and some of the things he did while learning about his new state of being.
I am looking forward to hearing the other character stories and then seeing how they all come together.
The only drawback I found with this audio was that sometimes the narrator's pace felt a bit off, mostly she was fine and the distinct character voices were all done, but there were several bits of no dialogue, description of place, other people, various actions, where the pace of the narration was a bit off. It was annoying but not so off putting that I didn't listen to the whole of the story and for the most part enjoy the overall thing.
