Summary

As the tight-knit Trinity Grace Church mourns the loss of their beloved pastor, his chosen successor, Alexis, bears the weight of a hidden truth: Pastor Will took his own life.

In the stormy weeks that follow, Alexis is tasked with nothing short of restoring her congregation’s faith—even as her own is secretly crumbling.

Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once) brings fire and vulnerability to the role of Alexis, a young pastor forced to confront her biggest fears while trying to solve the mystery that keeps her up at night: Why’d you do it, Will?

As hopeful as it is heartbreaking, Six Sermons will transport you to summer in Ohio, where the cicadas are loud, tensions are high, and gossip is fierce. Whether you’ve ever been in a church or not, you’ll be rooting for Alexis to win over the doubters and conquer her own demons. Listen closely.

Please note: This program contains mature language and themes, including a discussion of suicide. Listener discretion is advised.

Could be a true story!

We love our priests and pastors. However, many struggle mentally and we never know until it is too late. Loved this audiobook, which sensitively approaches this massive issue.

Brilliant, moving, thought-provoking

I was hooked from beginning to end to this excellent audio book. I highly recommend it to anyone craving a dramatic and thought/provoking drama. The story is deep, the performances compelling and convincing and I loved the ambience created by the congregation in the church scenes. The theme of suicide is tragic and very important to explore why it is still taboo especially in religious context. This audio book does exactly that. The characters and their reactions to the suicide really got me thinking about this. I hope to find more audio books out there of this quality and intensity.

Boring

The most boring audible I have ever listened to. I stayed with it thinking it would get better.

The performance was irritating

The story was powerful but the style of presentation was distracting and annoying.
The um -er - what - no conversations were frustrating and made me want to switch off. Parts were inaudible too.
It deserved a better production
