About this listen
Chloe needs a holiday. She's sick of making wedding dresses and her partner is having trouble at work. Her wealthy friend Gerard has offered the loan of his luxury villa in Spain - perfect.
Hugh is not a happy man. His immaculate wife seems more interested in the granite for the new kitchen than in him, and he works so hard to pay for it all, he barely has time to see their children. But his old school friend Gerard has lent them a luxury villa in Spain - perfect.
Both families arrive at the villa and get a shock: Gerard has double-booked. An uneasy week of sharing begins, and tensions soon mount in the soaring heat. But there's also a secret history between the families - and as tempers fray, an old passion begins to resurface.

Great Idea
I like the idea of this book it had so much laugh out loud potential, especially with Sophie Kinsella as the author, though I found it wasn't so humorous as the scenario suggests and didn't quite live up to its potential. It is entertaining in other ways and as always Sophie spun her magical yarn. Definitely worth a listen, though some bits were a bit slow even for me and I like a gentle story.

Good light read. Perfect beach book
like most women my age Iv read my fair share of sophie kinsella books . Who hasn’t read at least one shopaholic book? I thought I would give her other pen name Madeleine Wickham (which is actually her real name) a try. This is a very different style, more grown up, more sophisticated, darker. I enjoyed it and will give another one a try. Worth a look if you like these types of books.

Not the best...
I loooove Sophie Kinsella books and thought i’d try this. It’s okay, and i did listen to it all but it’s not particularly grabbing. Okay for listening to in the background but I wont listen to it again!

Thoughtful and entertaining
I don’t really understand the bad reviews for his book - I have just listened to it for the second time, and really enjoyed it again. It is lighthearted and entertaining, which the narration reflects, but with some depth to the characters and situation.

Dull as dishwater
I struggled to make myself listen to the end in the hope it may improve but to no avail. Story line predictable in the extreme. Very poor.

The worst Australian accent ever!
Overall this is a pretty average story but then they picked the worst narrator ever.
Not only does she have a real problem pronouncing some very straightforward words her portrayal of the Australian babysitter is so bad it bypasses funny & goes straight to irritating. If you combine cockney, south African & god knows what else you're close.
I won't listen to it again.
