About this listen
MARIKA
My family has been my world all my life. From swimming with my sister, my uncles antics and storytelling, to writing songs for artists in my dad's music studio. Now that I'm an adult, it's time for me to move out, be on my own, and do the one thing my father has held me back from doing, sing. What I don't know when I sign a contract with a big-time music producer is who she really is and the kind of people she does business with. When one of those people, a big blonde man, storms into my life and makes my body sing, I have to learn how to contend with everything in this dangerous new world I've entered, including him.
JOSEF
Looking at my blonde hair and blue eyes, you wouldn't be able to see my scars. They're deep. So deep that I feel absolutely nothing when I'm inflicting physical scars on anyone who dares to cross me or the organization I'm next in line to take take over, the Russian Mafia in Philadelphia, the Bratva. I don't feel anything anymore except the rush from making criminal deals or inflicting pain. That is, until I hear a song and see the one who sings it. She might have made a mistake entering my world and meeting with me, but now I'll do anything including killing or dying myself if it means keeping her safe and hearing her sing to me one last time.

Not very dark
I liked the dual narration of this book. The voices of the various characters were performed very well.
I expected this book to be a lot darker but the romance was quite innocent and sweet.
I enjoyed the suspense and there were a few exciting and dramatic scenes, particularly towards the end.
A good enjoyable listen.

A nice easy listen
The dual narration of this book was good and I liked narrators. I thought this book to be a lot darker, the romance was quite innocent and sweet and there was some references to areas on a women I was not keen on but this was personal preference.
