About this listen
A war is brewing in the Empire.
Not the War in the East - that is a war everyone already knows about, the war that some wanted to end so badly that they murdered an Emperor to stop it. No, this is a different war. A war between the Shadowlands and the mortal world, a war between light and darkness. A war the Brotherhood of Culo has warned about for generations. But no one wanted to listen.
And as war brews, an Empress in exile struggles to regain her crown, and the warrior sworn to protect that Empress fights to make it back to her. Yet the warrior faces an enemy which even she, the Empire’s greatest living sword master, may not be able to defeat: The warrior battles time itself.
And time is running out for the soldiers of the House of Dorsa.
The shadows are coming. Can you hear them?
This is book two in a series of three. Listen to Princess of Dorsa first!

slightly disappointed but good book
don't get me wrong the book is great and story is ok but its in the gay/lesbian category but with only 2-3 kisses not in life but only in the shadow lands and only in the last 10 minutes of a nearly 23 hour long book they actually get to spend time together. the first book was so much better I think this book just went off course a little.

Even better than the first
A wonderfully exciting follow-up to the first book. Performance was amazing as well. I can't wait until the next book comes out in audiobook form!

Magical
Brilliant narration once again for a gripping storyline that really builds the characters you've already come to know and cherish in the first book

Really loved this book.
So nice to have strong female main characters and especially their wonderful relationship. A well thought out world and plot, politics and magical theme. The narrator put great feeling into the characters and was so understandable and clear. Can't wait for the next one.

Finally... great Sci-fantasy for LGBTQ
I was seriously impressed with book 1 & now book 2 from this author. I can honestly say that for me, this book was up there with the Sanderson, Fiest, & Jordans of the world - truly. It's sad to think that Eliza Andrews probably won't get the recognition for her work from the rest of the world because it has female characters who are strong, independent, not reliant on men & gay to boot. It was amazing!
So refreshing to have lesbian sex scenes intertwined in a way that denotes passion & love with the strong connection that builds between women. It didn't take over however so it wasn't in your face for the sake of it (which I've come across with other, straight based fantasy books.
The story has twists & turns in ways that aren't completely expected with bad things happening to good people sometimes. The narration is really good too & all in all I'd highly recommend these books. I can't wait for more from this author & hope many others will read/listen to these regardless of the sexualities portrayed but because they're just darn good books.

couldn't stop listening
Soldier of Dorsa was so good I had to keep on listening, I can't wait for the third book. This was full of action , great characters on both sides of good v evil and the emotional rollercoaster Eliza Andrews took you on . The narration by Elizabeth Saydah is also very good with great use of voices and accents . Highly recommended to anyone who likes fantasy fiction and strong female leads

oh sweet baby donkey 😅
Fantastic, can't-put-it-down fantasy with relatable, lovable, characters. While the fantasy takes place in a patriarchal society, the central characters are female. Continuing to reveal Joselyn and Tasia's characters, while developing said characters through page-turning, trial-by-fire growth, is Eliza Andrews' gift to the reader.
Tasia and Jocelyn's struggle against the inherent dismissal of their ideas, skills, and birthrights because of their sex is an altogether shamefully familiar one, and woven cleverly throughout the book. I particularly like that though given no establishment to share information like the brotherhood or wise men, females find ways to pass vital information to the sisterhood, nevertheless.
Sequels, in my experience, are usually less than their originals. This book is an exception. This series is increasingly enjoyable with each book.
I am looking forward to book 3, when I will binge all the books.
Keep up the great work!

Great second instalment
This part of the story was written in 4 concurrent parts - past and present and Natasha and Joslyn. There was at least as much action and intrigue as the first novel and so I’m going straight onto the next.
