A wonderful new series by Mary Balogh
I always enjoy Mary Balogh's books and Rosalyn Landor narrates this book wonderfully, bringing each of the characters alive.

Good story with a mawkish ending
Rosalyn Landor is excellent at voices but she does love to spread treacle on with a trowel. Having been married a black belt karate ka, I can appreciate the aura of power that the hero possesses.

Loved it!
This is the first book I have read by Mary Baloch but it will definitely not be the last. I really enjoyed it. Rounded characters, believable and flowing storyline and perfectly read by Rosalyn Landor.

A great listen
This is the first book I have listened to by this author and it won't be the last as I will be off to purchase book 2 in the series. I absolutely love the narrator I have listened to many books narrated by her so I bought this without hesitation. I definitely recommend this.

Narrator critique
the narrator wasn't very good with the male voices/interpretation. Too pompous and sounded too old

Anticlimactic ending but still a favourite
The narrator is superb. Found the ending a bit anticlimactic but that aside this is one of the better romantic novels I've listened to. Really engaging and such a refreshing choice of 'hero'. Had me in tears at some points and laughing at others. Recommended.

Novel and Endearing
This is now the third Series I am embarking upon by Ms Balogh. I am entranced by this story.
It almost starts as almost every other Regency Romance in chapter 1 and then, one gets knocked sideways by the ponderous, why use 1 word when 5 will do, solicitor, and then the characters just explode upon you!
This is a coming of age story with a huge difference, not traditional at all! I do hope that the subsequent ‘Someone’ stories are this engrossing. I loved ‘Strictly’ and ‘Simply’, but maybe this series will be the best.

An unusual period novel
Beautifully written and narrated. The martial arts is inspired. Both sides of fortune flips and degree of change, with the prejudices and outside influences. Are brought out in a nicely balanced story. With humour thrown in. The characters are vast and amusing. Well worth a listen.

A Gentle Story.
It is the being of a series, alot of the major players are introduced.
It is a tale of family overcoming adversity.
The Hero and Heroine have learnt to deal with what life has given them and so have this in common.
