About this listen
Forget everything you thought you knew about maidens and unicorns... A mysterious force has separated Kayleigh Reese and her battle unicorn Majherri, who now find themselves on opposite sides of a war, each fighting to survive without the other.
For Majherri, the unicorn is now controlled by his deranged first rider, and must find a way to free her mind in the hopes of bringing the woman back to the light. Majherri is forced to pick and choose his battles, both physical and mental, if he is to succeed. Along the way, he will have to become stronger than he has ever been to prevent the madness that threatens to consume him.
Meanwhile, Kayleigh, the young sorceress, struggles with an uneasy relationship with her new unicorn. Finding their missing comrades and escaping the ever-expanding warzone are her goals, but forces are already aligning against her. Secrets from her past come to light and force her to reexamine everything she knew about her life.
Fighting for her life, she must master her powers and be willing to fight for her freedom against her enemies and even those she once trusted.

Never judge a book before you have tried it out first.
as I said in my review of the last book when I first had this recommended to me I picked it up in trepidation. Normally I am not a fantasy reader, however this book did not disappoint. I enjoyed it even better than the first book in the series. In this book we continue the story although I would say it is two stories woven into one. On one side we have majheri the unicorn Who has just been reunited with his first rider denella who was not dead. You have Kaylee Reese who was separated from him at the end of the first book. Majheri is trying to bring his first rider back to the light. Kaylee is working on training her powers and also finding out who she really is. She has also bonded with a former friends unicorn however due to the hostility between her and former ride and her new one the bond is not going well. They are both starting on either side of the wall who will come out victorious? You will have to read this book to find out. And this to all fantasied readers, I would also recommend it to anyone who likes a good cliffhanger ending as this is what this book gives you. The only reason I gave the performance a four star rating was because I preferred the narrator of the first book than this one. Cannot wait for the next book in the series. Hope it will be out soon.
