Story
There is a great disturbance in the Force. From the sleek ships of the glimmering Coruscant skyscape to the lush gardens of pastoral Naboo, dissent is roiling. The Republic is failing, even under the leadership of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, elected 10 years earlier to save the crumbling government. Separatists threaten war, and the Senate is hopelessly divided, unable to determine whether to raise an army for battle or keep the fragile peace.

For the handful of scattered Jedi, survival is imperative if the light side of the Force is to be protected and the galaxy somehow, someday reclaimed. Yet more important still is the well-being of the twin infants, Leia and Luke Skywalker, the children of Anakin and his doomed bride, Padme Amidala. Separated after Padme's death, they must be made safe at all costs, lest the hope they represent for the future be turned to horror by the new Sith regime, and the unspeakable power of the dark side.

Low down dirty double crossing ...
- By Stuart on 08-02-13
Summary
After years of civil war, the Separatists have battered the already faltering Republic nearly to the point of collapse. On Coruscant, the Senate watches anxiously as Supreme Chancellor Palpatine aggressively strips away more and more constitutional liberties in the name of safeguarding the Republic. Yoda, Mace Windu, and their fellow Masters grapple with the Chancellor's disturbing move to assume control of the Jedi Council. And Anakin Skywalker, the prophesied Chosen One, destined to bring balance to the Force, is increasingly consumed by his fear that his secret love, Senator Padme Amidala, will die.
As the combat escalates across the galaxy, the stage is set for an explosive endgame: Obi-Wan undertakes a perilous mission to destroy the dreaded Separatist military leader General Grievous. Palpatine, eager to secure even greater control, subtly influences public opinion to turn against the Jedi. And a conflicted Anakin, tormented by unspeakable visions, edges dangerously closer to the brink of a galaxy-shaping decision. It remains only for Darth Sidious, whose shadow looms ever larger, to strike the final staggering blow against the Republic, and to ordain a fearsome new Sith Lord: Darth Vader.

"Impressive! Most Impressive!"
Any Star Wars fan will know, the title of this review is a quote from 'The Empire Strikes Back', spoken by Darth Vader during his first battle with Luke Skywalker. \"Impressive\" just doesn't do this book justice though, it is utterly superb.
The Jedi battle with Dooku on the separatist flagship, the deepening darkness on Coruscant and in The Republic, the rising fear within Anakin Skywalker, the twisted inner-workings of the minds of Count Dooku, Darth Sidious, and General Grievous....All these things (and more) feed your imagination, and open-up the Star Wars Universe, like never before.
On top of this, the narration is masterful, almost an art, which brings the story to life in such a way, you could almost be there.
Amazing book, and well worth buying. I thoroughly enjoyed this, and wil do so again, I have no doubt of that :-)

Superbly written and performed
I thoroughly enjoyed the Revenge of the Sith novelisation. The writing was superb, almost poetic. It greatly improved the dialog from nearly all scenes of the film, and gave a much better insight into the character's feelings, and motives. Anakin's fall is much more understandable, although one glaring omission was his perspective on killing the Jedi and younglings, which was disappointing. The extra material not covered by the film was also sound, particularly the beginnings of the Rebel Alliance, and the conflict between Anakin and Padme's political views. I wish this had been the basis for the film, and not the other way around.

Hmm an improvement this is
While I, like the majority of star wars fans love revenge of the Sith, I always thought, that it was too rushed, after two (in my opinion) terrible setup movies, with few great moments. But this hardly even needs those movies, it dived deep into the characters, it makes sure that even a new time fan will know what's going on, but paired with the other prequel audio books (again in my opinion), that are much better than the movies, this is a masterpiece, I truly recommend this to anyone who is even remotely a fan of star wars. The only problem is, that it is so good, that it may make the movie far less superior in comparison to its novelization.

A Masterpiece
Wow. This wasn't just a great Star Wars book - it was an amazing book-book. Anyone, even someone who hasn't seen Star Wars, could pick this up and be blown away by its striking writing and vivid character portrayals. Never have I been so invested in every characters' internal mechanics, even the ridiculously evil biodroid Grevious. It's also just so incredibly impressive how the writer picks up the unfinished tapestry of the movie and completes it to make total and utter sense. In short: I loved it. Lucasfilm - make this book canon again!!

Great book for Star Wars fans!
I'm a huge Star Wars fan, and I have seen all 6 movies several times. I was looking into Star Wars books telling stories not told in the movies, but except for a couple of them, all Star Wars books available as audiobooks are abridged versions. I know you lose lots of the details in these versions, so out of curiosity I bought this one, even though I had already seen the movie. I was very surprised with the quality of the narration, and the quality of the story as well. The book adds lots of insights and details that would've been impossible to include in a 2 hr movie. Special effects are good, but nowhere excessive, and actually help in visualizing the story. Overall, I'm very happy I bought it!

Incredible!
I love the movie but the book is much much better. You get more scenes, dialogue and information that just makes the story absolutely brilliant! In the movie, Anakin's turn to the dark side seems a little rushed. Not so in the book.
If you like Star Wars you need to read this.
