About this listen

Far in the future, 60,000 light-years from Earth, a loose confederacy of Terran exiles is locked with the enigmatic Protoss and ruthless Zerg swarm. Each species struggles to ensure its own survival among the stars in a war that will herald the beginning of mankind's greatest chapter or foretell its violent, bloody end.

Danny Liberty was a good reporter...too good. When his investigations struck too close to the heart of the corrupt Terran Confederacy, he faced a simple choice: continue his current series of exposés, or take a hazardous new assignment covering the Marines on the front lines of the Koprulu Sector. It didn't take him long to decide....

Behind the attacks of the Zerg and the Protoss lies the story of a lifetime, but every piece of information blurs the mystery further. Thrown into the middle of a war where the outcome will determine mankind's very survival, the only thing that Danny Liberty knows for sure is that the only person he can trust to keep him alive is himself.

Unity151 YouTube review: AMAZING!!

Starting off I’m a very happy listener.

Gritty and felt like the game and filled out the story. I played the game many moons ago and read a few of the books in my younger days. Bought the book but didn’t get around to reading it. Saw it on here and here I am, very happy with the story and the narrator.

Liberty is a very good character to follow and his presence enhanced the story and adds more context to what happened.

The battles were dark but not grim dark in my opinion. (I love dark bloody battles)

If you like the game and story this is a must. I’m not giving any details about what happened as the stuff added from liberty’s POV would be spoilers. The rest of the story is well know by playing the game but this can be a stand alone.

The narrator does an amazing job with the established characters and uses their old voices really well.

StarCraft's first book

This definitely reads like the first book this franchise got. Mostly feeling like a self insert to the first campaigns plot

Good book, bad review, hear me out

They say don't judge a book by it's cover... Well I did. I had about 10 extra credits so I needed to use them so I quickly get some titles in my cart and click buy. Now I really loved the story in Starcraft and I especially liked Kerigan's story in Heart of the Swarm. I see Kerrigan all green with the zergy hair on the cover, okay, I want to see what it's about. Well... it's nothing about Kerrigan with zerg-y hair it's not even about how she got to that point, no it's everything before that point and when I say everything I mean a bit extra from what you already got from the game.
So as I said... good book, but it's 100% different from what I was sold by the cover.
