About this listen
When you’re born without a trace, no one knows you’re a weapon.
I lie for her.
I hunt for her.
I kill for her.
And above all, I betray my mission for her.
She doesn’t know why. She doesn’t care why.
I do.
Treason comes in many forms.
Love is one of them.
Our training taught me to be a sociopath. A machine. A pawn. Nothing more than a tool for a larger goal, without attachments or feelings.
Our teachers forgot one important detail:
Pawns shouldn’t have hearts.
Yet we do.
It turns out our emotions are our greatest weapon.
And I know exactly where mine are aimed.
The first in an all-new series by USA Today best-selling author Meli Raine.

What a thrill!
I was happy to get the whole trilogy. Two of my fave narrators, in a very interesting plot mixing hidden facility, child training and worldwide conspiracy, what not to like. Especially with a bit of romance–and mild steamy scenes.
I was also prepared for the darker undertones. It goes with the genre. And nothing is too graphic, though you’ll get some blood and death, and more disturbing things–like the whole mindset behind Stateless, oh my god. But the atmosphere is fascinating, and the writing quite good. It’s a good story, period.
The characters are interesting. They’re twisted and conflicted, they hide things and reveal others. They’re very complex and their stories and interactions are at the heart of the book. And it’s because of that that the big plot, the political conspiracy, may come to an untimely end. What a thrill!
Narrators are excellent, as always, especially the female narrator.
I can’t wait to listen to the second book of the series!

State Less
When you are taught something from birth or childhood most never question it, no matter how violent it is. Especially when your also taught everyone else is against you. Kina and Callum are entering the end of their training in book 1 and getting ready to find out their futures in statless. In the final challenge 1 from their group must die in order for the mission to be considered a success. Kina is considered weak, but she and Callum have a connection. This is not allowed in statless, so they must hide any feeling for anyone including how Kina feels for her twin sister. This series is so intense its hard to put it down, and pushed me through the whole series just to find out how it all turned out. Great job on the narration, it made the story so easy to listen to. Thanks Audiobook Obsession for the recommendation.

Stateless
Stateless is the first book in the new trilogy by Meli Raine. I was surprised to see characters from Meli's other series in this book. This book is told in a dual point of view between Kina and Callum. It's a unique storyline with spies and missions and lots of danger and suspense along with the beginning of a romance between Kina and Callum thrown in the mix. It kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning to the cliffhanger at the end. Luckily, I have the next book in this trilogy waiting for me to hit play.
It doesn't get much better than Joe Arden and Andi Arndt. They are wonderful performers and did an amazing job bringing this story to life.

exciting!
This one slightly different to the others that i have read. Struggled at times but not enough to put it down. I think it was just down to being different from the rest. Gave me a little of the hunger games/divergent feel. Am looking forward to seeing where this trilogy will take us!

Grab the ENTIRE series now! You'll need to ASAP!!!
Man oh man!! Meli Raine sure left me feeling teased and a bit tortured! I'm literally uncomfortable listening to this book! It could be because I don't trust any of them. If you read/listen to this and you're feeling a bit... disjointed... or possibly confused? Join the club! However, listening to the other books in the connected series does make me feel as though I know a bit more than a reader picking up Stateless as their first Meli Raine book. Yes, yes... this is a standalone trilogy but it is connected, slightly by some references and some shared secondary characters, you'll also hear loose storyline from the other books, starting with the Harmless Little Series, then the Shameless Little series and finally, this series. OK sorry... I didn't mean to ramble to much!!
These two narrators can do no wrong in my eyes! I love them together and consistently enjoy their portrayals of the various characters they play. This story is layered and drenched in doubt and misdirection. Joe Arden is Cullum now and may be for a while depending on how I feel for him after this next book in the series. Andi Arndt is one of the best female narrators out there currently. Her voice always works for the woman she's presenting. She seems to channel them flawlessly. She became Kina... insecure and kind of meek but with this steely spine that comes out when it needs too.

I was left wanting more
Kira and Callum are being raised and trained to take on the government. Kira is left behind to care for the new trainees even though she is a true warrior. The one thing that was not measured was the relationship between Kira and Callum. This bond between them is strong and it will only get stronger. But this story left me wanting to know more. I could not stop listening and I was happy to have the next book lined up.
Joe Arden and Andi Arndt are perfect for the narration. They always deliver an amazing performance. I always know the narration will be superb with this team. Knowing that they continue in the series has me wanting to listen even more. Joe and Andi bring this story to life. A better narrating team could not have been picked.

Romantic Suspense
Stateless by Meli Raine is a romantic suspense that I listened to on audio narrated by Joe Arden and Andi Arndt. This is the first book in the Stateless Series.
This is the first book of Meli’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. She pulled me in from the very first chapter and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. I love the relationship between Kina and Callum. The book does end on a cliffhanger but that wasn’t a surprise since it’s the first book in the series. I can’t wait to dive into the next book Traceless to get more of Kina and Callum’s story.
Joe and Andi did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like romantic suspense, military romance, or psychological thrillers.

This was an awesome listen!
Stateless... a program that is training children from a young age to overthrow the government. Keena and Callum and Keenan twin sister are a part of this. They’ve been told that they were rescued from abusive homes and taken in and raised in the compound.
Callum and the twin were sent to college and Keena was left behind to care for the babies and become the “training body” (you’ll have to listen to know what this is). After 9 years, Callum returns to the compound.. he didn’t know Keena had been there all along.
This was excellent. The story is hard to handle at times (for me) but it was a great listen!!
Andy Arndt and Joe Arden are two voices I love to listen to.. and this is no exception! Loved the narration.

Interesting start to the trilogy
This is a trilogy and must be read in order. This was an intriguing start to the trilogy and done so well by the narrators, Joe Arden and Andi Arndt. I have both the ebook and the audiobook and I have to say that the narrators really bring this book to life!
The trilogy follows a cast of characters, including Kina and Callum, two recruits at Stateless, an organization that aims to infiltrate governments to carry out missions that are crucial to peace (hmm or are they?) The book itself spans a few years, from their younger years and shows us where they end up. There are a few trigger issues (harassment, abuse, etc) so beware but the book is really well written and the story is so intriguing. I do think that people will get more out of the series if they listened to prior stories and there were some areas that were a bit long. But overall, I'm interested to see what will happen in the next 2 books.
