Stoicism may be an ancient philosophy, but it is one that has even more relevance to our daily lives now that we are in the modern world. Too often, we find that we aren’t able to control our lives, control the events that go on, or even control the people and how they act. But with Stoicism, we learn that we can control some things, such as our emotions and our reactions, and this can help to lead us to happiness.
In this complete guidebook, we are going to take you from the very basics of using Stoicism in your daily life, to complete mastery. We will show you how this ancient philosophy is going to work to make you feel happier and more virtuous. Some of the things that we will talk about include:
- What is Stoicism
- The early history of Stoicism, from its founding as a school of thought by Zeno in 300 BC to its decline due to the growing popularity of Christianity, and its resurgence in modern times
- Profiles of three Stoic masters who played a major role in the development of the Stoic philosophy: Epictetus, the former slave who became one of the most influential Stoic philosophers; Marcus Aurelius, the Roman emperor who helped promote its popularity; and the controversial Seneca, who sought to live the Stoic life in spite of his lavish lifestyle
- Recognizing the things that are under your control
- How to conform to your own reality
- Understanding how your emotions work
- The importance of freedom of will
- Learning how to be calm when there is adversity around
- Learning how to make the best of all situations
- How to use Stoicism in order to make your life better
- How to use the process of neuroplasticity to change around your mind and how you react to things
- How to use affirmations to help with Stoicism
- Simple ideas to implement some of the Stoic philosophy into your daily life

An excellent introduction to Stoicism
Out of several books, I recently listen about the stoic philosophy this is absolutely the best. Written lively and in a conversational tone and elegantly organized it is a must-read for anyone who is interested in this old movement and, like me, wants to try it himself.

Excellent audio book
This was a gift for my son, who is pretty picky when it comes to audiobooks. After he finished he simply said "I love this audiobook", it's the best gift I've ever gotten. Enough said. If you are interested in Stoicism this audiobook is great.

Excellent Knowledge to Apply in
This was a very useful audiobook for those who need help seeing and acting with purpose in the world. Because of this audiobook, I plan to listen to 'Meditations' by Ryan James. I believe there are three takeaways from this audiobook: Alter your perspective (how you see the world), love everything that happens in your life (obstacles and opponents) and persevere no matter what

Good introduction to Stoicism
I’ve listen the line “be the best you can be” so many times it became redundant. I think all of the readers get the picture. Also, this audio book really seems like an introduction to Stoicism

Perfect Recommended
the writer quoted many of the great philosophers such as Aristotle who said that stoicism is a kind of desperation, similar to a lover who thinks only of their beloved, they seek to spread the philosophy and keep it by living it. The whole human, we are interconnected to the world, logically, in pleasure, in pain, and in discipline, one is damaged when we fail to treat one another with respect and compassion

Way of life
Very good work about stoicism. First of all, I liked very much part of the book about the history of stoicism. I found here a lot of interesting facts. I didn't think before that stoic lifestyle is possible in our times, but recommendations and tips in this book seem to be so useful. Now I'm implementing them to my life and all is going ok with it
