About this listen
The biggest demons live inside of us.
Faith Smith has always had a problem with alcohol. At first, she didn’t believe it was an issue, but slowly, her life begins to unravel. Her job as a teacher hangs in the balance, her marriage begins to crumble, and she realizes that she’s putting her addiction before even her own children. Faith knows she has to do something to regain control of her life.
But her demons won’t abandon her so easily. Struggling with mood swings and losing control of her mind, Faith must summon all of her courage to find the light at the end of the tunnel. But with her relationships collapsing beneath the weight of her alcoholism, is it too late for Faith to salvage her life?
Told with a gritty realism that reflects the real, daily struggles of people suffering from alcoholism, Surviving Hell is a gripping and thought-provoking story about one woman’s fight against her inner demons.

Excellent
As a recovering alcoholic, who also has bipolar, this book really resonated with me. I could identify with the self loathing, the bewilderment at my awful behaviour and the struggle to accept that yes I really, really was an alcoholic. To anyone out there wondering the same this book is a good place to start.

Authentic, Gritty and Fascinating
I cannot emphasise enough, to what degree I could not tear myself away from Sheree Coleman’s work. I listened in one go, no breaks, all through the night. This story is deeply uncomfortable at times but always enthralling.
I squirmed at the abuse the central character endured and I cried at all of her misfortunes. I was rooting for her all the way. What is it like to be an alcoholic? Well, the pitiful truth is here. Sheree Coleman, you have written a wonderful book!

A bit odd!?
Not too sure on this one as recovery literature. It came across as sickly sweet and not believable, but maybe thats because I'm British and we dont do the whole god thing. Americans need to believe more in themselves and their own strengths rather than some fictional being. Dont think the narrator helped either, she made it seem too nicey nice. On the whole it left me with nothing and Im sorry I spent my credit on it.
