About this listen
Mila
Pregnant and married at the young age of eighteen, I settled into my life not knowing there could ever be more.
Until Mason, with his sexy smirk and magnetic baby blue eyes.
With a single look and a few words, he made me feel sexy and alive.
But as quickly as he came into my life, he was gone, leaving me wanting more.
A few days later, my mom died, and her final words of advice—life's too short to settle—are what I vowed to live my life by. Not even a year after her death, I was divorced and ready to find the one.
Only I didn't realize how difficult it would be to find someone who could make me feel the way Mason did.
Five years later, and I'm still single, looking for my forever.
Mason
I'm the guy who fights and f*cks.
The guy who goes fishing but never keeps what he catches.
The responsibility that comes with commitment isn't for me.
Until Mila comes back into my life, making me want things I've never imagined wanting.
Now, the man I've always been is quickly losing the fight against the man I want to be.
I'm supposed to want the woman who wants the right now.
Yet, I'm falling for the woman who wants the forever.

Lots of heart
Mila and Mason’s story was so sweet (with plenty of steam). Mason was the ultimate player and I liked how Mila and Mason knew each other for a while and in fact, didn’t like each other (or did they) until they did through a series of events that made them closer (including, unbeknownst to Mila, a dating app friendship). Mila is a single mother but I have to admit that that aspect seemed very superficial (though very cute) and there were aspects of the romance that felt rushed. But overall, a solid story that was a nice escape from the world. Oh and with a fantastic narration cast that perfectly solidified the emotions in the story.

Single Mom Romance
Takedown by Nikki Ash is a single mom romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Avery Reid and Christian Leatherman. This is the third book in the Fighting Love series.
I absolutely love Nikki's books. She does an amazing job taking me on an emotional rollercoaster in every one of her books.
I really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Mason and Mila. I loved that we got both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
I can't wait for the next book in the series Knocked Down to be released on audio so I can get Griffin and Ava's story.
Christian and Avery did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you're looking for a single mom romance, roommates to lover's romance or contemporary romance.

Excellent Story, Characters & Listen🎧 Loved it!
Nikki Ash never ceases to amaze me with her impressive writing skills and ability to create multilayered stories that captivate my attention from start to end. The characters she creates are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to care about and even fall for, too. This third book of the series is Mason and Mila’s story, an opposites-attract single mom sports romance. I have been looking forward to Mason’s story since meeting him in “Clinched”, the second book of the series and is Tristan’s best friend and sidekick. Mason is a player who wants nothing to do with relationships, and a single mom, which is definitely a no go for him. And we soon find out why, which stems from events when he was younger. Mila, a nurse who met both Tristin and Mason in “Clinched” and she is good friends with Tristin’s wife, Charlie. Mila caught on to Mason’s playing way and vowed she would never sleep with him and he found that to be a challenge until he found out she was a mother. But the two crossed paths often and he started to see her in a different light, and even took her son Alec, an MMA fan under his wing. I loved how everything played out in this book, the plotting and world building are brilliant, as are the character growth and development. The story has the perfect balance of drama, a touch of angst, charm, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. Nikki Ash, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 Avery Reid and Christian Leatherman did a wonderful job bringing these characters and story to life. They understood the characters they were portraying, and I loved how they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. You could hear how much heart they put into their performance as they captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen and their performance elevates this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Mason & Mila!
Oh Mason! This is the third of the Fighting Love series and Mason's story is heart wrenching to say the least. Seeing what he did as a child has left him scarred and not willing to get close to anyone. Love them and leave them was his style. Mila has always been attracted to Mason, but knowing his reputation, she had no interest in pursuing him. Now divorced and taking care of her child, she has other priorities. Witty banter, online dating, impossible chemistry and a couple lost but finding their way. Ash writes with feeling, with heat and with family. Mila and Mason are one for the books, making my heart happy and full of love.
Avery Reid voices Mila, full of spunk, but extremely vulnerable underneath. She finds the pain, the strength, and the love to make her real. Christian Leatherman is Mason. Super confident, but he too holds a vulnerability close to the chest creating the essence of Mason. These two were fantastic and made a fabulous listen.

Good story
Really enjoyed this and loved learning more about Mason's back story. Even if it was sad. The only thing I had a problem with and its not even really a problem but the ending was super abrupt. That aside I have enjoyed this series as a whole. This was a solid story

Love in Unexpected Places!
Takedown is book three in the Fighting Love series and I have really been enjoying this series. I was very excited to get Mason's story and Mason and Mila have been a long time coming given how they met.
Mason is a famous UFC fighter who spends his days training and his nights with different women, never taking any of them too seriously. He is a loyal friend and an amazing uncle. He has a complicated past and family life, something that has greatly impacted his self esteem and his outlook on relationships.
Mila is a single mom. She had her son when she was young and she is now divorced. She doesn't want to settle and she wants romance and love. She is hardworking and a wonderful mother. She sees Mason as a total player and not someone she would ever be with.
Life has a funny way of working out, and sometimes you end up with the thing you didn't even know you needed. I really liked both Mila and Mason as the main characters and I adored Alec. I liked all of them together. Though Mason struggled to believe in himself, he was an amazing person to all the people in his life and didn't give himself nearly enough credit. I found this story very engaging and highly enjoyable and I love this group of friends. The one thing I struggled with this book was the repetitiveness of the issues mentioned in relation to Mason and his past etc. I felt like it just became too much after awhile. The book was still enjoyable and I really enjoyed the narration. Both Avery Reid and Christian Leatherman did a fantastic job bringing this story to life.
