Summary

Tired of endlessly swiping on dating apps? Dealing with flaky people? Going on dates that never should have happened in the first place? Settling for partners who aren't all that great for you? Ready to end self-sabotage in all its forms? Let's stop all of that right here. But first, we need to identify the gremlins getting in the way of your fulfillment in life and love. And to convey to you how freaking magnificent you are.

See, over the years, I've received around 5000 letters asking for advice about love and relationships. And I noticed that all those questions boiled down to the same basic stuff. I call them The 5 Hidden Love Questions, because they're operating at such a deep level of your mind as to be hidden.

Below conscious awareness. So they are running your life right now even as you listen, whether you're aware of them or not. Get the answers to the questions wrong, and you'll be miserable without even knowing why. Get them right, and your love and life with improve radically.

Drawing from ancient wisdom (Buddhism, Taoism, Zen, yoga) and modern science (neuroscience, psychology, game theory, evolutionary biology), I packed this book chock-full of practical strategies for smart strong women like yourself to successfully navigate modern romance, own your power, and flourish like never before. I sincerely hope it's the last dating book you'll ever need.

Some of what I'd like to share with you:

• The one mental shift that takes you from feeling not enough to feeling like the Queen of the Universe.

• 6 questions you MUST ask on a date to find if you could be a good fit.

• Self-compassion: THE game-changing superpower.

• How to spot & avoid toxic people with The Magic Safety Question.

• Why dating apps suck, and what to do instead to meet great guys.

I was given a free copy of this book to review so I wanted to like it, but I was disappointed.

This book contains some useful insights about relationships and dating but it's riddled with coarse language that ruined it for me. At one point Dr. Ali tries to claim that the cussing is to add emphasis to various points, but I say to Dr. Ali: lose the boorishness and write with more skill. Show more respect for your readers!

It mystifies me that Dr. Ali thinks such crassness is appropriate in a professional, teaching context, and it's an equal mystery that his editors would let him away with it. It's a pity, rather akin to how mustard stains would ruin a fine business suit. You could still wear the suit, but people will take you a lot less seriously even if you're trying to say valuable things.

This isn't a title that I'll be recommending to my friends.
