About this listen

A Richard & Judy Book Club Pick

Immerse yourself in The 6:20 Man, a heart-racing thriller with an incredible ending, set in the world of high finance in New York. From David Baldacci, the number one bestselling author of Memory Man.

It's time to catch a killer . . .

Having survived combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq and been decorated with medals, Travis Devine leaves the army in mysterious circumstances, under a cloud of suspicion. And at thirty-two years old, he’s swapping fighting the Taliban and Al-Qaeda for a different kind of danger in the cut-throat world of high finance.

His daily commute on the 6:20 a.m. train into New York’s financial district, to his new job as an analyst at the powerhouse investment bank Cowl and Comely, takes him into a world where greed, power, jealousy and ambition result in the financial abuse of the masses and the enrichment of an elite few.

When a close friend of Devine’s is found dead, the mysterious circumstances surrounding her death at Cowl and Comely compel him to investigate further. As he digs deeper, he discovers strange coincidences and unnerving truths.

As the deaths pile up, and the major players show their hands, Travis must question who he can trust – and who he must fight . . .

The action continues in The Edge, the second Travis Devine thriller from David Baldacci.

So clever!

Baldacci never disappoints. I love that the “goody” in this story is such a mensch. Excellent research. We’ll worth the time.

What a ride - hard to ‘put down/switch off’.

Excellent in all respects - great story with what I thought was enhanced by superb narration.

Excellent narration

A great financial “who done it” thriller of a story, excellently narrated. An audio book very difficult to put down or switch off

Good book

A little slow to start. Stick with it and you are soon gripped and want to know more.
I loved the ending. Need to have more from these characters.

Enjoyable easy listening

Zachary Webber was terrific. I don’t know if it was poor editing but the women’s voices didn’t fit in, it wasn’t a smooth transition.
The storyline was good, kept me guessing. A little implausible but that didn’t spoil my enjoyment overall.

Fast paced well narrated

The characters were well put together . I liked the pace of the story with good detail but not overbearing minutia that some authors tend to get into . Definitely worth a listen . Only my second book by this author the first one being an actual book . But hey times they are a changing ..

Loved the pace & story teller

Perfect voices for this book. As soon as it ended I went back & started it again. The culprit wasn’t who I thought and I was intrigued to listen again and piece together how it was who it was! Great story. Love David balacci books.

Well written and a good twist that I did not see until the very last few chapters

Brilliant.

I really enjoyed this story. It had be hooked from the very start. I thought this book was so well researched and thought out. It had everything, suspense, intrigue, action and violence. I loved it. The narrator, Zachery Webber was brilliant. I love anything he narrates. So, all in all this book was so good. I’d recommend it to everyone.
