About this listen
Author Orlando (Ori) Spado honestly recants his humble beginnings from the small town of Rome in upstate New York, to becoming known as "The Mob Boss of Hollywood."
A candid account documenting his fall from a well-known Hollywood fixer mixing with A list celebrities to serving 62 months in Federal prison, and ultimately making a determined comeback.
"For nearly forty years Orlando 'Ori' Spado was a friend and associate of John 'Sonny' Franzese, underboss of the Colombo organized crime family. His relationship with Sonny brought him to the attention of the FBI, and eventually led to his being indicted with Sonny on federal RICO charges, and imprisoned. In The Accidental Gangster Ori provides the details of his time in 'the life' and his long battle with the FBI—whose overwhelming resources made it a fight that was impossible to win." - Nick Pileggi, Author & Screenwriter
"Orlando 'Ori' Spado had been a thorn in the side of the Los Angeles field office of the FBI for almost two decades before they finally took him down. Accidentally or not, Ori was a quintessential Mob character, complete with a pinkie ring and a slow, steady deliberate voice whether speaking with friends or foes. But like so many other 'Good Fellas,' he was set up by a friend’s son. You will have to read the book to find out who set him up. Enjoy!" - John Connolly, author of the NY Times bestselling true crime book, FILTHY RICH

An amazing book telling the human side of crime.
Before this book i never heard about mister Ori Spado. it came to my attention when i met him on a LinkedIn post. Following his posts and with there also becoming aware of his presented life and written book i looked it up on Audible (but i sure will buy his book on his website : https://theaccidentalgangster.com/
This has also been the 1st crime book for me to listen to as the genre has never attracted me. Until now, thanks to mister Spado.
I love to listen mister Spado reading his own book as with this i truly felt what he was experiencing. It had humor, adventure an took me rely back to his time. As if i was watching a movie in my mind by listening to his voice. It felt like a personal diary not a fixed polish roman novel.
The actions and the life mister Spado eventually choose to walk are far from my reality and that is why it also has intreeged me to learn about this and experience the human side of people living in the organised crime. As these are all chooses you can make in life. They sure do not resonate with mine but we are all human.
What i also liked listen to is the way how mister Spado in some ways always stayed true to his own person with helpen others and taken care of eachother and himself. Yet again he has not presented himself as an angle....yet in some way he was for others constantly helpen others and fixing problems. That in the long run also created problems for himself.
By listening to this story i came to realise what it must be like to walk such a crime life. And it is not pretty at all Although it is sometimes presented as glamours ...its just the outside thin shiny plate that attracts certain people.
Mister Spado indeed became by Accident an gangster...yet he choose to walk the walk and talk the talk. Now with this book making sure to show others to STAY OUT of Crime...and your life and that of the people you love and love you are in no comparison of the shallow fame you will receive walking the crime life. On day everything of that shallow possession will be taken away leaving you empty handed...so what did you do for it in the first place...the rush...the ego..the money?
I thank mister Spado for making time to write this book and send a deep message to all people to stay out of trouble. Especially all the young people that think by watching movies or following gangster rap stuff that this a decent life to live.....well its not.
Stay.out and become a man / or woman that respect his or her own life and takes care of the people that are valuable to them. Respecting and helping the underdogs and help them lift to an level happiness and prosperity.
Mister Spado i wish countless more people will listen to you book. Buy your book with autograph (as you will write a personal note to everyone buying one) https://theaccidentalgangster.com/
From out if the kind nature in Finland i send you my regards and wish you all good health, happiness and prosperity and be of support to others but from now on the right track of life.
Kind healthy regards
