This is not Sara Fields' best work
Even if you like consensual non-consent (CNC) this story is pretty bad. "Don't worry your pretty little head, let the hero save the day while you sleep" muddles the story when the heroine is supposed to be queen and warrior amazon.
I like quite a few of Sara Fields books and I am happy I didn't start with this collection since it could have put me off trying any of the other stories.
If you like fantasy + CNC perhaps start with Consumed. :)

not realistic enough sadly
I listened to the first and ended up shouting at myself about how stupid the queen was. .although I trudged on storyline itself overall not too bad...but then......the second book came into play....and again I found myself shouting at Luna asking why she didn't just boot his bits and tell him she was looking for her child....but the women so far in both books seem to make spineless acts...not sure if I can listen to the rest....no backbone to state where Luna was going or why and somehow unable to say no when she didn't want the guy..just letting him force her to go wherever he wanted...really made me mad...just spinless women and felt annoyed at each chapter..... not many books I've listened to where I've felt the need to shout at the characters for their stupidness. it had to happen sooner or later tho. ha ha

Yeah "rough" is not the same as no consent
So I'm a huge fan of PNR, shifter, vamps and all that stuff. I know that when we're dealing with an animal instinct that the authors like to take some liberties and ride a line between "rough" and consent but this one was not only non-consenting but was basically the big R word.
R first and hope for the best - is the theme for this world.
I didn't find it cute or sexy or empowering or any of that. I didn't have enough time in the world to even understand why this dude showed up in her castle, snuck past all her guards and just R'd her. Like WTH is going on???
Sorry but I DNF'd it after that.
