Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
If you could open a door to anywhere, where would you go?
In New York City, bookseller Cassie Andrews is living an unassuming life when she is given a gift by a favourite customer. It's a book - an unusual book, full of strange writing and mysterious drawings. And at the very front there is a handwritten message to Cassie, telling her that this is the Book of Doors, and that any door is every door.
What Cassie is about to discover is that the Book of Doors is a special book that bestows an extraordinary powers on whoever possesses it, and soon she and her best friend Izzy are exploring all that the Book of Doors can do, swept away from their quiet lives by the possibilities of travelling to anywhere they want.
But the Book of Doors is not the only magical book in the world. There are other books that can do wondrous and dreadful things when wielded by dangerous and ruthless individuals - individuals who crave what Cassie now possesses.
Suddenly Cassie and Izzy are confronted by violence and danger, and the only person who can help them is, it seems, Drummond Fox. He is a man fleeing his own demons - a man with his own secret library of magical books that he has hidden away in the shadows for safekeeping. Because there is a nameless evil out there that is hunting them all...
Because some doors should never be opened.

I rarely write a review but...
I had to for BOOK OF DOORS! This was such a great book. A wonderful, magical concept, so well executed. I read (listen) to a lot of books, and often don't remember them, but not this one! I thoroughly enjoyed this. The story and the narration were both brilliant. I'm just praying there are more to come!

the allure of time travel and magic books
as kids we wished we had powers to make people do what we want or travel through doors to imaginary worlds that's what intrigued me I think, the main characters are quirky and relatable and the bad guys downright nasty and evil, gets a bit confusing with the back and forwards story telling on the time travel scene's but all in all a good story.

A brilliant book with perfect narration
The narrator in this book is incredible and please audible take note about when you cast a narrator right, the already incredible book becomes something extraordinary. It becomes theatre. Please hire this narrator again and consider how narrators have such an impact.
The book was a delight, it was heartfelt and honest in how it created its characters. I was irritated by some aspects of the main character at first but she learns and grows through the book. The storyline was fantastical and wonderful, a great concept of magic in a usual form. The characters were a delight and although there were some really dark moments they felt well placed and important to the story. The twists and how it all weaves together were always unexpected and satisfying. A favourite I will return to. Well worth the listen, don’t hesitate.

A good twisting read
Had me gripped, very easy to listen to, well narrated. A very enjoyable story with good characters you could warm to, and of course villains you can easily dislike
